Where are all the exe files?

edited December 1969 in The Commons

Well, I just went into my account to re-download V4 and noticed that a good bit of the exe's are replaced with zip files. The zips are good for DS but not Poser because the desktop icon needed is not included. I installed V4 via Daz manager, but the morphs wont work without the V4 exe install file.

What icons is that you are missing.

If you install V4.2 using the DIM, then direct DIM to install it into the folder where you have your Poser program file installed, and DIM should then initialise it for you. This means it will install the exp channels that are needed for the morph packs to work, You can then install your morph packs.

    Found it, C:\Program Files (x86)\Smith Micro\Poser 10\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\DzCreateExPFiles
Still, Daz should not have removed the exe files. SMH

It was the Update V4 desktop icon... I finally found the path that the icon shortcuts to. Win 8 is making everything a nightmare.

ah right as Misty says you can search for the bat file and run that from where ever it gets installed. DzCreateExPFiles-v4.bat is the one you want. double click on it to run it.

Unless you are still using XP it's not a good idea to install content to the application folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Smith Micro\Poser 10\. There's a fair chance that the batch file won't work as intended with the content installed there.

If you use Install manager, the bat file is run on install with the zip, the same way it was run with the old EXE files, if you allowed it to do that. You shouldn't have to manually run the bat file unless things got disconnected somehow.

You could try this, makes it very easy to find stuff and jump directly to files and folder in file dialogs.
