Not unexpected, but there was hope for a while.

Brash, loud, insulting, but she made us laugh for decades.

She was incredible. I'll never forget one of her most famous lines:

"Elizabeth Taylor is so fat; her blood type is Ragu!"

She was a comedy genius to say the least. She will be missed!!!!

It's always a tragedy when we lose a great talent, although she said something recently (which was not a joke and which I will not repeat here) that really changed my opinion of her. At least she lived a very productive and long life and brought happiness to many.

We've just lost another giant of the entertainment industry.

She was famous for her self-deprecating humor. And she often made jokes about her plastic surgery. So I don't think she'd mind this obituary line especially after her botox treatments. "She was preceded in death by her face."

Did you see that hospital gown they had her in? She wouldn't have been caught dead in that.

Thread should be titled .... "Can we talk"

...got a Hot flash so bad my dress caught fire!
.....At my funeral I want all Hollywood. I want a wind machine that blows my hair in my coffin wilder than Beyoncé's on stage.

    (Render challenge!)

She also wants Meryl Streep crying in five different accents.

Such a great lady gone from us now. Another living legend no more. I loved the last two posts with the JR lines. Fabulous! R.I.P. Joanie. We love you.

I read it in my NY Times eNewsletter this morning, and was sad. I had the great fortune of seeing her live many years ago, and laughed myself so silly my sides ached for 2 days. RIP Joan.

On the plus side she died doing what she loved. Recovering from surgery.
