Bundle / Punch Question

Preface 1: I am not complaining, I am merely confused. Since something doesn't add up in my mind. I am just trying to figure this out and / or bring a potential issue to the attention of DAZ's Sales Department.

Preface 2: Preface 1 was included because a number of people seem to be hypersensitive about anything that appears to be a criticism.

Bundles and punch question, since the two don't seem to work together well.

Scenario 1: I purchase Darwin the Toon Chimp, Ape World 2 - Orangutan HD, Ape World 2 - Chimp HD, Ape World 2 - Poses, and Ape World 2 - Gorilla HD individually. $31.89 cost and 5 punches.

Scenario 2: I purchase Ape World 2 - Bundle (which only includes the above items). $34.97 and 1 punch?

I understand why the bundle costs more. Five items equals bigger overall discount. Is the bundle really only worth 1 punch? And wouldn't it make more sense to price the bundle so it was less than the individual items? Or include something in the bundle that isn't available?

    Its more of a technical limitation to how the punch system was built. Adding the ability for punches to be gotten on individual items of a bundle, and figure out if the bundle itself should get a punch or not depending on if the bundle has anything of its own outside of the sub-products, is something we can put on our big list of possible improvements to the store.

    Also, the pricing being the way it is, again, a technical limitation of how the sale rules work (30/40/50) and doesn't count sub-products... so 50% off all the individual items, but only 30% off the one bundle since its 5 items in the cart vs 1. Something we can look at, but that one is a lot harder than punches themselves.

    Yeah, that was the answer I was afraid of. One day I hope you guys will give up on these sale ideas that the website can't handle.

    Wow - eye opening, Legionair. We are accustomed to thinking that a bundle is the best buy. You have shown me that that isn't the case in these complicated sales. Thanks for pointing that out. Now we have to work even harder to figure out the "real" cost during sales like this.

    So then...why release the bundle at all? At least right now?

    Wondered when this one would come up again. Didn't this one come up during MM or whenever the last punch promo was?

    Yeah, I find I have to do purchasing analysis with some of these sales as of late.

    Buying the 5 individual Ape World products are cheaper than the bundle because the 50% discount kicked in for buying 3 or more, where as the Ape World bundle by itself is only 30% off.

    I ended up purchasing the Ape World Bundle + the two Don Albert commoner pose packs triggering a 50% off all items bringing the Ape World bundle down to $ 24.98. The 5 vs 1 punch didn't matter to me as I'm sure I won't hit the tier 2 punch level by Sunday at the rate I'm going. If the punches would have carried over like in last December's Snowball sale, I would have considered an a la carte purchase.

    Ahhh. that Snowball sale, I remember it fondly...... I can see from subsequent sales the marketing staff learned a lot from that sale!
