After School for Genesis 2 Female(s) and V4 - Upgrade Option?

Just saw the "new" After School for Genesis 2 Female(s) and V4, and I'm wondering if there shouldn't be an upgrade option available for owners of the previous V4 release.
Since I already have the V4 outfit, the only thing I'd be interested in is the Genesis 2 Female version, but I wouldn't want to pay $18, especially since I already paid full price on the V4 set.

Agreed,
Seems a tad like oppertunism to me.
I also have the V4 version, so would like an option to buy a Genesis 2 version at a more reasonable price.
Failling that...I will just use AutoFit and Transfer Utility on the V4 Version I already have, and the Vender gets NO SALE..
S.K.
Saw it too and I also have he V4 version already and what i can't work out is what is with all the item requirements for the product that as far as I can tell have nothing to do with said product..
And very true Autofit does a pretty good job and the tutorial floating around the net for converting V4 shoes to Genesis 2 well yeah.. And well if this was just for Genesis 2 Female and a bit cheaper then yeah I would be all over this product..
I thought that the G2F version had been placed in our purchase history but it was en error because I was looking at After School 2.
I agree with what has been said before...
Edited..

Yeah not sure why the need to release the product again for V4 when the original V4 version http://www.daz3d.com/after-school is still available.. Yeah it adds out of the box so to speak support for GF2, but really the need to add V4 support again? When the V4 version still exists in the store.. Ah well..
Anyway I will skip that pack since I have already given the same price for the V4 version...
I just hope this doesn't become the trend for all their outfits. I can understand wanting to update them to the latest figure, but unnecessarily doubling up existing products won't get more sales. I have a large portion of their catalog, both here and from rendo, and I'm NOT interested in re-purchasing products I already have.
well, after much deliberating, I decided I'd go ahead and get the new version, since the 30% discount is likely the closest thing to upgrade pricing we'll see. After downloading and installing, there does seem to have been some changes, since the overall installation of the new V4 outfit is about 10 MB less than the original version.
What is up with this?

If you compare the V4 version product page to the V4/G2F product page there are a number of morphs for V4 that are not listed as part of the newer version. Among those not listed are Pretty Base IV and Kaleena. I wonder if Pretty3D removed some of the V4 specific morphs in favor of G2F and that's why it's not an upgrade.
Same goes for After School2 and the Star Trooper one. No PrettyBase, Kaleena or Elite morphs.
This is called "the store is broken." As usual.

It's Monday in the middle of big promo.
I couldn't tell what that product is.
Is that product the G2F version of all of the old products?
Or is it new textures? And if so - why does it say its for G2F if there appears to be no G2F version in existence?
The original V4 version has now been pulled from the store. I too think there should be an upgrade option, if not a free update. :)
I don't believe that we will get anything...
In V4's day, items could be a bunch of unconnected meshes, but to do the same with a Genesis outfit means that new polygons need to be added, and areas need to be fused together or they create gaps in the outfit, especially with shoes and boots. I think a lot of people don't realise how much extra work goes into converting something from V4 to Genesis.
Autofit works to a degree, but the issues mentioned above are the main reason why shoes and other items 'break' when fitted to Genesis figures. I singled out shoes because they're especially susceptible to the issues I addressed. If it works for you, that's great. But the item designed specifically for Genesis will look better and perform better in movement than the autofitted version.
I have asked Pretty3D if there would be an upgrade price for previous purchasers of the V4 pack released some years ago.
The answer is that the sale policy is determined by DAZ and that I must thus contact the DAZ support...
Strange since the pack is not a DAZ Original.
That is incorrect. Daz has to make it work on the back end but it's our choice with brokered items. It's kind of a pain to get it all set up and having to go back and forth with Daz.... and occasionally they'll say they'll do it and then they forget.
I'm still not sure on exactly what I would get with this item - it has a description that makes me wonder if its just 'compatible with G2F' in terms of auto-fit or if it actually has a G2F version.
The item is already 50% off. That's plenty of discount.
It has two installers listed separately for V4 and G2F, and says it has .duf, .cr2 and .obj files. It probably doesn't have custom morphs for G2F (none are listed, at least), but it does have actual G2F conformers. I don't think DAZ would allow them to claim G2F support without that, either.

Thanks for your answer, Fisty! :)
I anyway think that sending me to DAZ was not the best idea since the item is not a DAZ Original. I just see that there is no update/upgrade price for previous purchasers of that outfit. DAZ can't decide to put PA items on sale because it is the PA's choice to do so.
Daz can and does all the time, a special sale like upgrade pricing is a different matter though.
The 50% discount only applies to PC+ members, which not everyone is. I figured there wouldn't be any upgrade or update price for this set, so I've accepted that the 30% discount us regular customers get will have to suffice.
Looking at the icons and promos for the G2F products from Pretty3D, I'm wondering if they plan to release a G2F version of their character, Pretty Base?

Thank you or the information, Fisty. It is now a bit clearer... :)
