Specifically French and German field guns. Cheap is good; free is better. :-)

I seem to be striking out in the normal locations.

I have this one, works well in DS.

I know it's a "little too modern", but...

Try Vanishing Point. Either their own store, Poser Direct or RMP. If you don't see it in their catalog, ask. They are not adverse to making private sales.

BBC America ran "The Great Martian War" last month and it has given me a few ideas to play with - but I really need artillery from 1913 to 1917 to put some of these together.

I just did a quick search at TurboSquid, and they have quite a few, but only a handful are what I would call "cheap".

Ah - yeah. :-) At least three that fit - but at $110 each they're a bit over $100 each out of my price range. I only do this as a hobby (keeps me off the streets).

What are you going to use for uniforms?

Well, I figured I'd burn that bridge when I got to it. :-) I'll probably need to model the helmets myself, but I'm thinking I can get away with a bit of slop on the clothing by working with the lighting and atmospheric effects. The guns, not so much.
