Using the New Genesis 2 Textures on Genesis1 Figures

Any specific Genesis 2 textures? Bear in mind that both Genesis and Genesis 2 have support for multiple UV sets, so they do share a few common compatible textures. Victoria 5 is supported on Genesis and Genesis 2, for example, Victoria 4 is possible on Genesis by default, and on Genesis 2 with an additional purchase.

So far there is no immediate support for older figures to use new UV sets such as G2F base or Victoria 6. You can use the map transfer utility to convert them into a V5 format, however, but this doesn't always give the best results.

No particular textures in mind other than the V6 ones.

I figured since GenX2 supports morph transfer from G2 to G1 maybe thered be a way to swap the textures as well. Maybe in the future..

    Thank you for your reply

Yes, I am. I finished them today, just packaging them up to submit to DAZ QA. I have done V6, M6, G2F and G2M. DraagonStorm has written a script, included with the products, to deal with the presets and the different naming of the material zones.

Ironic that two threads have emerged for this in such a short time. That just makes me feel like the work was something people want.

Dang, you work fast Slosh. Nice one! Takes me ~ages~ just to do simple UV mapping. Then again, I'm still using an antiquated version of 3DS Max so a lot of the cool tools to tidy up UV's are unavailable to me.

LOL, after having done more than half a dozen of these, I have learned a few tricks. These might be my best conversions yet, and I am excited to be putting them out there.

I'm still working on UV mapping a dress I've been designing on for G2F Growing Up. The lace sleeves are proving a particularly hazardous part due to the high concentration of vertices. There's only so much you can 'relax' a UV map before it starts to look like a donut!
