Does anyone know how to drape the Orestes Cobwebs cloth over an object?

Hi,
I just purchased Orestes Cobwebs and can't figure out how to drape the cloth. It doesn't appear to be dynamic or am I missing something. I'm sure I'm just not thinking clearly and it is quite simple but the method seams to elude me at the moment. Sorry for the dumb question but draping fabric is not my strong suit. Thanks in advance.

My best guess is the 'drape' is intended for Poser use not Daz Studio. I'll wager it's dynamic only insofar as you can use it in Poser's cloth room using the built in draping tools.

I bet you're right. I should have thought of that. I'll use it in Carrara or Poser, I was hoping I could use it in Daz and was just missing something but I think you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for your reply.

So does that mean that this product, sold at the DAZ Store, is not fully compatible with DAZ Studio?

That should not be in my eyes. At least not without mentioning that fact in the product description!

It's not required to be compatible with DAZ Studio. A broker can make it compatible with whatever program they want. DAZ has no control over that.

Sorry, but I see this a bit different. Please have a look at the product:
    - the description says: ... Also included is a high res 'cloth' web to that can be draped over any object.
    - and under compatibe software you find: DAZ Studio 4.6, DAZ Studio, Poser

But this is not true. The cloth cannot be draped in DAZ Studio. I do not say that this product should not be sold here. I just think that the vendor should mention this fact in the product description.

Orestes might not realize that Daz dynamics are proprietary and not any obj can be used like in Poser.

The draping cobweb is meant for Poser, or any other software that can simulate dynamic cloth. I personally haven't the slightest idea how this is done in Daz Studio, those that do know can get the better use out of it, and this is not so much as an incompatibility. There is nearly a dozen other props in the set, the draping one was more of a bonus.

    Hope this helps!

I was just looking to see if I was trying to use it wrong and if the cloth could be used in Daz. I don't mind using the cloth in Poser or in Carrara my purpose. I am quite pleased with the product and think it was done quite well. Sorry if my questions suggested otherwise. Thanks for the great work and for every ones reply.

There is a cobweb workaround if you have the Dynamic Clothing plugin for Studio. Use a dynamic cloth prop (there are some free ones at http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/FreebieDownload01.php - I used the Bettie Page drape) and then create a cobweb texture image, and assign to the appropriate surface channels..
