Daz Cinema 4D Bridge rig question

Hi folks,

I'm wondering if someone could explain to me why the Bridge plugin, takes the standard Daz figure bones/joints, and creates a new hierarchy, that then acts like an exoskeleton for the former rig?
From the point of view that it eliminates the extra mid forearm and thigh twist joints, thats understandable, but what is the thinking otherwise? Couldn't it work by simply importing the original skeleton (like with an FBX export), and then having the IK rigging connect directly to that?

Cheers

Adam :)
