i'd like to blend a few rendered scenes together without it looking like film strips.

was gonna try putting 3 scenes in one render, but doesn't seem workable.

Thanks. :)

    that looks kewl.

i can't find an example of what i mean. remember the old forum, the horsey was kinda blended in with the blue?

or like a video game cover? they blend a few characters with 2 or 3 background villages?

I think you're looking for something like the attached image below. Am I correct?

Like a "composite?" Where you have two scenes integrated (or parts of two scenes) like a background with buildings in one, and the people in another that are the foreground/populating the scene?

these are best montage-ee examples i can find so far.

like 3 rendered images, they look seamless when next to each other.

it's so kewl, but :bug: looks complicated

there's prolly some gradient fill technique in there. feathered masking maybe

    thanks :)

Yep. Exactly what I showed above. To create montages and collages like that you need to do that work in post using a program like GIMP or Adobe Photoshop. It can't be done within Daz Studio. For the piece i attached above, is I rendered my main scene with the main character, desert, sky, moon, and explosion, then I rendered a second scene with just the four characters (fully lit, but no other elements) that would be going on the back cover as a PNG file so that it would have no background. I then took both images into Adobe Photoshop as two separate layers (the render of the four characters on top of the render). After that, I applied a layer mask to the top layer, and using the paint brush, I painted out the parts I wanted to fade away (namely the legs) and then set my Layer style to Screen, so that any dark areas would become transparent.

Perhaps you would lose something in the translation, and I've never tried it myself, but one could render a scene, then use that as a background for a new scene and repeat ad infinitum or as required,

i wanted to try something a lil more complex than rule of thirds, ya,know? there's something out there about an 's'

was thinking like 3 or 4 rows of banner sized renders, and shift them left or right to make the s path, but no lines between the rows to defeat the purpose.

can't afford to spend more than a week on this, for now, guess i'll have to give up on it

    Hi Misty Whiskey,

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but looking at the examples you posted, there are a couple tutorials here on doing this kind of effect that might help you:
    http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/collage-photoshop-tutorials/

Phlearn.com is also great site for tutorials on compositing images. Their best ones are expensive but there are a ton of free ones on their website and their YouTube channel too. I don't think they have any specifically on creating these types of collage but maybe there is something there you could use.

Hongkiat was going to be one of my recommendations as well. Here is also a video on a technique:
