How do you export an object from Bryce? The "Export Object" menu item is disabled. The object I am trying to export is simply two cubes grouped together. Being able to export the simple item will allow me to export more complex ones later..

You need to make a boolean of the two and then convert it to a mesh.

Ungroup the pair of cubes and then selecting them one at a time, enter the Attributes (the little A button in the floating sub menu for the selection). Make each of the cubes "Positive" in the selection list.

THEN group the two together and you will see that the floating menu for the group now has a C button. Click that and Bryce will generate a mesh which can then be exported as an .obj.

    Hope this helps.
