Using Vicky MATs on G2M?

Hi, I wondered if there was a way to use Victoria (V4, V5, V6) UVs on G2M, and to use Mike's on G2F?

Many thanks

It's easy to assign the G2M UV sets to G2F and vice versa, so that makes V5 and V6 (if you have the V6 character) available. For V4 you'd need the Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 female product to get the UV set.

Yes, if you have a materials preset for the texture you want to use just double-click it (in the Content Library, it won't show up in Smart Content as it's not for that figure); character presets won't work, they will just load a new copy of the figure they are for. You can also make the files work by editing (a copy) so that it thinks it is for G2M.

You can use any G2F uv set you own on G2M (including 3rd party uv mappings like the one for V4). All you have to do is apply the relevant material setting and the UV's should be switched automatically. The one complication is in smart content the G2F materials and indeed materials for any non G2M figure will not show up, so you have to either find the material setting in the content library, or select a G2F figure in the scene then drag the material setting to the G2M figure and apply it to that figure.

G2M and G2F have different UVs though. Is there something I'm missing that lets you use them interchangeably?

    Edit: Nevermind.

    This will help... UVSetterGen2

Just apply the texture you want to use, then use the preset from UVSetterGen2 to bring in the correct UVs (provided that you actually own the UVs you are trying to apply)

I made these presets myself, and I might be missing a few of the more recent ones, like Lee 6 or Lilith, but most of them are there :)

Do you need to use UVSetterGen2 when applying Daz Studio maps? For example if I apply the Olympia MATs to G2M it switches the UV of G2M's to Olympia automatically. Of course if you use poser MATs, like many V4 ones are, then some way of changing the mapping in the surfaces tab is needed.

Many of the presets you will use will automatically apply the appropriate UVs, such as the Olympia MAT you are referring to. The UVSetter presets are "just in case" the right uvs didn't get applied with the mat preset. Definitely not a requirement :)

Are there any plans on adding Teen Josie, Lilith, Giselle, Aiko 6, Gianni, Lee, and Teen Jayden s**n? :)

Josie and Jayden don't have their own UVs, and I should go ahead and add the other missing sets. I will work on that this weekend and put out an update.

Ack! That's right! Pardon my stupidity!

And yay! I'll wait for the update before I download them, then. :)

Thank you Slosh - I've had a lot of use from these in the previous revision, so the new additions will be really useful.
