Real looking normal people models?
There is some great models etc with Daz 3D but one thing I find off putting is that all the people look like overly perfect (or deformed) stereo typical game type models.
What I mean is all the men have 6 8 10 packs with bulging muscles etc and the women all like either anime graphics with over size eyes and chests, or overly bulky muscley cartoony characters wearing a couple of pieces of string as an outfit. Most of them look deformed!
This is fine if your trying to do a fantasy game image for 16 year olds but far from natural, or realistic.
Is there any normal looking model available that may look quite attractive but not muscle bloating, chest explosive scantilly dressed anime crossed hulk models.
Maybe some that have a bit of a pot belly, or pointy nose, or non 6 pack guts, fatter legs or skinny arms etc. Real looking!
They don't need to be hideous monsters but look like REGULAR every day people to allow scene a more natural look.
Besides a couple of packs that allow for slight modification I have found next to zero normal looking models.

The G2 figures have morph packs that you can get that will do just that. People like Zev0, one of the PA Vendors, has packs for adding age. You have many options.
Greetings,
To explain further, you can add any type of character-enhancing deviation to a 'ideal' base. If you started with an inbuilt imperfection (as all us normal humans have) it's very hard to build a character who DOESN'T have that specific imperfection.
So, to use your example, it's easy to dial up a hook nose on a character who starts with model-style attributes, but it's harder to create a morph for an already-hook-nosed character to make them have a cute button nose.. So if your character has a cute nose, but distended earlobes and eyes a hair too far apart, you couldn't build that as easily from a base character that had a strong opinion about an imperfect nose.
Think taking a blank sheet of paper and writing a story on it, versus a sheet of paper with 'It was a dark and stormy night...' already printed in the top. :)
You can nitpick the analogy, but the point remains...there are dozens of morph kits to add any kind of human-making imperfections to the DAZ characters, so it just takes a little care for making an original character out of the mostly-unformed clay.
Few people render the raw V6 or M6 out of the box, and most take pride in creating their own character.

I thoroughly agree with Cris Palomino, and Cypherfox. There is even the Die Trying morph set that is free at sharcg, along with many I have purchased at Daz3D. I have had my trial by fire in morphing as well. There are ways to ease the pain of using all them morph sliders. Splitting the view-field, using multiple cameras for the different angles, putting an example picture on a cube next to the figure your morphing, etc.

When shopping for figures at the store, I don't shop to use them as is, unless I'm being lazy and focusing on something else. I look for the nuances I would like to use, like a nose, a chin, etc.
I dislike paying twice for the same ground, and Daz Studio has many ways to save a figure, a shape preset, scene subset, etc. So once you have made a figure to your liking, you can easily drop them into a scene.
That FW Eve figure I keep poking fun at being in bad situations, has been saved as a scene subset (Hair and all). It makes working on other stuff so much easier.
Some models in my opinion look pretty realistic like Victoria 6 or Olympia 6. They have realistic body proportions and facial features. Of course, all female models are quite good looking even if they don´t have the perfect body, they still are the pretty face type and don´t come with too many imperfections.
If you don´t feel like buying a model that costs 40 dollars, you can always buy the morph pack and try to morph your own character.
Thats where the pointy noses are at : )
The models that cost 40 are expensive because they have a unique shape and come with high quality skin textures.
Keep in mind that most artists aren't rendering images of "normal" people. Take a stroll through the gallery on any CG site and you'll find very few images that feature people with pot bellies, hook noses, or other physical imperfections. Those that do are, as noted in the other posts, typically morphs of pre-existing "perfect" characters.
Adam Thwaites does some female characters based on real-life shapes http://www.most-digital-creations.com
renders of normal people? :)
With the Genesis 2 Male and Female figures you can add in additional morphs as you wish and then you are able to mix and match those morphs as you see fit. This is not restricted to just morph packs like the aging morphs or the muscle morphs but to every character addon for each figure as well. Because DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro is free and so is the Genesis 2 Male and Female figure, this means that it is not costing you anything upfront to try out the basics. Each figure comes with some basic content for free as well and is all available in your Account under the Product Library after you get DAZ Studio 4.6 Pro. Additionaly, all clothing made for Genesis 2 Male and Female will work with the different shapes though with some varing results. This is built into DAZ Studio and is known as auto-fit.
As pointed out, the main figures comes with morph options, half the fun is creating your own characters, Don't rely on what's in the stores. I never use any body shape from any character package, i make my own.
Here is your pot belly, LOL
It's called, "does my butt look big in these pants"
You can use various morphs and textures to vary from the default models a lot.
You can make them young with Zevo's Growing Up morphs.
You can use Genesis Ethnicity Morphs to vary your model's look.
Give them attitude and accessories like glasses, piercings, tatoos, or jewelry. Dress them in "real people" clothing, instead of fantasy, sci-fi and skimpwear.

How you render them will have a lot to do with whether they look natural or not. Lighting is key as is placement in a scene.
Nice texture - mind sharing which one it is?
Tks!

That is Bellatrix for G2F. I added extra moles, freckles and age spots to her body with skin overlays. The skin overlays don't support V6 UV, but I think I just let it use the V5 UV and declared it close enough. Who cares exactly where freckles, etc. fall.
Daz (and pretty much everywhere) characters are idealized. Unfortunately for the few of us who prefer more a realistic/prosaic style of character, the prevailing aesthetic in 3d deems to be to emulate magazine spreads; that is to say pre-airbrushed. (I cant be the only person who cringed when the 25 inch waisted Lilith was described as "full-figured ").
Rant aside, Its pretty easy to de-idealize Daz figures, and Genesis 1 and 2 have the decided advantage that clothing will fit; S4 was the first figure I really used and is still the closest base to my tastes, she just had so few clothes that supported her. The first image is V6, Olympia, and S6 next to my 3 minute de-idealizations. I used pretty much the same setup for each: in full body morphs I make her shorter and use a bit of heavy and pear figured, ramp up the waist width and down the breasts. Shape Shift by Zev0 has some very useful morphs: the V6 stomach smoother is the only real way to get rid of v6's toned abs, and I couldn't help but use the lower glute width morph, which I pretty much always use now as it gives the hip a nice triangular shape. Naturally if you want to render lots of children or the elderly than Zev0's Growing Up and Aging morphs are indispensable.
Faces, unfortunately tend to require more dial spinning of the Daz vendors I think Lyoness and Raiya make the most defined face morphs (As a bonus their skin textures tend to the non-airbrushed) I generally mix one of their face sliders with some of the people and then go crazy with all my face morphs (on most of my dialed characters I've probably altered at least 75% of the face morphs)
The second image is some saved shaping presets that I think do a decent job of showing how Gen2 can be turned into varied realistic figures, I am particularly proud of the left two faces which are decidedly stronger and less "pretty" than what you can buy, but haven't crossed into hideous monster or caricature, which I sometimes do.
Men I have a much harder time de-idealizing. Mainly because all the gen6 men are quite muscly and its hard to de-muscle them, I mostly use a transferred D5 with a bit of M6 so I can use his HD morphs without it looking weird, and then try to make his shoulders not quite so wide. I really hope a nice D6 is in the works though.
barbult, Excellent renders, tempting me to take another spin in the "Multi-Axis Trainer".
Kamion99, Nice morph sets, and agreed with D5. The most used Of my miniscule guy collection (D5 pro, and M5 Pro).
I am kind of looking forward to D6, even tho I have yet to get Lee6, yet.
G2F Barby-waist syndrome, easy fix, lol.
Shaping -> "Upper Body" -> "UAbdomen Size" (light green slider).
I don't remember what morph set that came from.

There will be people who say you can’t – but you will!

(EDIT)
Took another spin in the "Multi-Axis Trainer". Smaller eyes, Different ears, Not happy with the nose still, lol.
"O" and that shirt is from the "Ranger Outfit", random selection. "Wilmap" has allot of stuff that is not skimp-wear, lol.
The body is not symmetrical. Split the morphs and make subtle alterations to each side. Stock poses may be a great starting point but don't depend on them. Tweak them. When you apply a pose, really look at the positioning of the body parts. Ask yourself if you would be able to stand or sit in that position. If the answer is no...
is there a slider for pooch belly? :) or more fondly, i call it my - muffin top
Agreed, and allot of poses are made for specific figures, resulting in limbs in limbs without adjustments. I had to adjust the three poses used in this render that came with the outfit bundle.
And you can make allot of the morph sliders go beyond there preset limits if needed. Click the gear and set a new limit, yes negative-one works quite well with allot of them.
(EDIT; pooch belly, yes, the lower bulge at least. In both the Morph Bundle at daz, and the Die Trying set. There is a few styles of that If memory serves, under "Waist" or Hip. You can evin dile in a tad of "Preagnet" and dial out the upper part if needed. (Daz Morphs; "Stomach Depth", "WaistBellyInOut" under waist... Die Trying; "Belly Diameter", "Belly InOut", etc, under waist... I got a third Morph set from Daz, with a few "BellyShape#", "Genesis 2 Female Mixed Morph Resource Kit".).

If you get all four sets I linked to in this and the former post, you should be able to do quite allot and some, It is still not quite Z-brush. certain chins and noses, I have yet to figure out, If there possible.)
Let me spin some dials, and see What I can come up with for a starting point, with plane old G2F.
Not A Friendly Bird, lol.
A more modest morph from the former "What dose all the sliders do" random fuss. Same figure, wearing a Fisty outfit. I like the articulation of the wings I must add, humble thanks there.

Pooch Belly, "DieTrying's 182 Morphs for Genesis 2 Female" settings.
If your looking for overhang on the belt-line (covering a belt), I don't think the morph packs will do it, without resorting to Z-brush. If it is just the lower belly bulge, Oh yeah, lol.
Here one of mine "normal" people ;)
Greetings,
So for a basic pooch belly, yes, it's entirely doable. For something more extreme, where the belly droops over the clothes, unfortunately, I think the closest is Zev0's Belly Control morph set, and even it doesn't really. I think there's just a dearth of polys in the area that can be reasonably stretched out, and folded over and still have clothing support.
I have tried to do that a few times (in excruciating candor, to attempt to model myself) and never found a good way to do it. I'm not even entirely sure that the standard weight-mapping (amusing name, in context) supports the body folding over itself like it actually does for really overweight people.
There are examples in Zev0's Belly Control for Genesis that appear to be folded over, but (1) they're on mostly nekkid people, and (2) those same promos do not appear for the G2 versions, and (3) in actual usage are hard to trigger, and (4) significantly deform any clothes put on them. TMI elided.
I think it's just not possible with weight-mapping tech as we have it now to provide for the extreme cases, and (as witnessed by the 3D content in the gallery and deviantart) rendering morbidly obese folks isn't a common pastime, so it's not something the tech is likely to be optimized for.
This doesn't mean it can't handle 'real looking normal people', because the weight levels where those problems kick in are still, despite our best efforts as Americans, not the norm.

that is a fabulous render.
Thanks Cypherfox, That's been bugging me. How to fold over a belly with d-form or something. Tho that is a good point. I don't know how many times I've put a stock pose preset on someone with a limb contacting another part of the body, and the cloths start wrapping around into a mess.
Normal for me, Is a figure that has a waist that is at least larger then the thigh (Not a Barby doll figure). Arms no thinner then half the width of the thigh, etc. I actually kind of like the one fairy post figure tummy wise, It's not an impossible shape for a human.
