PA prices changing and "Today only: $5 off any purchase $33 or more" confusion

Does anyone know if this is supposed to be for a single item $33 or more, or can it be multiple items totaling $33?

Either way I have tried it, I do not see the $5 discount.

The other issue I am seeing is when I have 3 PA items already in my cart, if I add a Daz Original, the price on the 3 PA items goes up a bit.
Anyone else having this issue too?

I just put a total of $38-and-change of items into my cart - nothing over $16 - and checked the price in the drop-down I get when I click on "My Cart". That price was the $38-and-change. I then went to the Shopping Cart page, and the price was $33-and-change.

(Then I used my "10-more" coupon and got the price down to $29-and-change.)

So, to answer your first question, I didn't have to buy a $33 item to get the discount.

Can't help with the second question - I didn't have any DOs in the order.

I don't see a minus 5 in my shopping cart. How do i know if it applies or do I just buy something and hope that it applies at the end or is their a coupon code somewhere?
    Love esther

Thanks for the reply, robkelk. I found the same to be true.

I tried some other combinations of items and the only things I am completely sure of, is that as long as the item(s) are in no way already discounted (PA sale, PC discount, etc.) the -$5 discount displays correctly.

@ esther: There is no code to enter. I think $5 off is getting split proportionally among all the items in the cart, but it still does not explain why PA sale items actually increase in price when something else is added to the cart that puts the total over the $33 threshold....

I guess I'll buy the PA items on their own order and, if I decide I really want it enough, the additional will go on another.

Okay, I believe I may have figured it out:

The sub-total (actual, non-discounted prices of the PA sale items) was used to determine if the order met the $33 requirement.
The 3 PA items, at 50% off, already had the $5 discount applied, split proportionately among them.
I guess I failed to notice that they were a tad below half-price.
When another item was added, the distribution of the -$5 was changed, meaning less of it was applied to the original 3 items, making the prices of each higher.

I hope this can help anyone one else who may have had similar confusion.

    Happy rendering!

    E.

I got this offer, only problem is I didn't get it until this morning being in the UK when it had already expired; honestly I really think Daz don't want my money these days.

I get four copies of most DAZ emails- two of the $5 off emails came last night, two were waiting this morning. However, I think there was a banner in the mains tore rotation yesterday as well.

Yes, but as Richard said it was also in the main store top banner, the rotating on, so not totally reliant on emails. I am in the UK, and use Yahoo, which is notoriously tardy with forwarding emails, but I got the email yesterday. However I had seen the offer on the store banner before I realised I also had an email about it.

I don't bother spending all my time in the store I have other things I like to do these days - and the point is not about the banner it's about the email which for a lot of us came too late to use, I'm glad you got it in time and to be honest I'm glad I didn't it saved me money again.

I don't care for these 1 day sales either that DAZ and Rendo are having.. I often get the email late... or in the case of the Rendo 1 day sales.... who has time to browse thru a couple hundred products in a single day to find what you want or want and already have.

I got that e-mail late in the day (in the UK); with the time difference there was a chance to use it - just. But then when you calculate the discount in percentage terms (a tad over 15% on $33) I couldn't see that the effort required to identify suitable products would be repaid by the saving.

So 10 out of 10 for a simple, no-nonsense, offer but 1 out of 10 for the timing and actual customer value.

Suggestion: It's a global economy across multiple time zones. Get with the program and make these things 36 hour at least!
