You've really outdone yourself with this one, Merlin! Bought the bundle the second I saw these promos.

Thanks very much! It's been a year in the making, in between a few other projects, so I had plenty time to work on the details :)

This went straight into the shopping cart at a speed which would make a Ferrari Enzo driver's eyes water. It will shortly join the wagon, the church bundle, the armoury, the crossing and the forge in my medieval props runtime.

Excellent stuff! I look forward to using it in my next project.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Hey, this reminds me of, erm, yesterday, when I thought "Damn, I really need interiors for a medieval house".
    It's a bit frightening.
    And also amazing.

Which set did you get? The bundle includes the complete scene with all the props, lights and building already in place for you. The other 2 sets only include either the building only or the props only, hope this helps.

There are a number of new products I can't justify spending money on, right now, but absolutely plan to get when more money is available. This bundled set definitely counts among them.

Looks like just the thing for the recent Viking themes and 'Skyrim' fan-art renders. Especially that amazingly atmospheric cellar.

About to check out with this set now. :) I'm mostly interested in seeing if I can make it look like a house for my character (it honestly looks more like a home than a shop to me, but I assume that a lot of merchants sold out of their homes back then). I'm sure the props will be very useful too; users like myself can never have enough random medieval objects!

I wrote a short review of your Medieval Wagon a little while ago (highly recommended), and I look forward to whatever you make next!

It's both. Shop-ish bits downstairs, with what looks like a workroom at the back, home-ish bits upstairs, plus a nice-looking cellar underneath. And the big lord-it-over-the-peasants room is really fantastic.

The only quibble I might have is that loading the whole thing slows down my system to a camera-stuttering crawl. I think I'll save out extra presets for each floor — e.g. no need for the upstairs props or building when I want a cellar scene, and vice-versa. And the lights need to be split up, too.

Whups, and remember the building front wall includes one wall of the cellar...

I bought the Merchant's House bundle and when I load the included scene in Poser Pro 2014, it complains about a missing obj file (LN_CellarFloor.obj.) I don't see anything in the Geometries directory with that name.

Edit: I downloaded and unzipped everything again and now it's working, so seems to be a false alarm. :)

Nabbed! I love this. Thanks to Merlin Studios for separating out all the individual props - I'm happy to pay for the bundle to get all the bits able to be loaded individually. Also, the doors open. THE DOORS OPEN.

    THE. DOORS. OPEN.

    Ahem. I'm very excited.

You can also HIDE. INDIVIDUAL. WALLS. :o

(still pretty crowded in those hallways, but it's a great set).

The problem with making medieval buildings is they are usually a bit tight for camera angles. If there's one thing I've learned over the years it's always make each and every wall removable to make it easier...oh and have opening doors lol

Another thing you've learned over the years is to add a lot of material zones to objects. I really like how you can hide the canopy and sheets on the bed; it gives it a completely different look. Being able to hide the walls and customize materials are the little details that really make the difference between a decent architectural set and a great one.

I thought I was done with the PA sale, and then THIS popped up and I let out a cheer. I'm a big fan of medieval stuff (I seem to be making an entire medieval country with al the props I own), and I've been a big fan of Merlin's for a long time. Anything medieval or renaissance or even Reformation through Victorian made by Merlin is a certain purchase. I'll collect cans on the street if I have to in order to come up with the cash.

I know enough about Poser's various tools that I can make an entire and quite credible looking medieval house, interior and exterior, out of Poser's morphing primitives. But if I want something that is way beyond anything I can create myself, I'll search Merlin's store.

And of course this set is 100% Poser compatible, and for that I heartily thank you, Merlin!

The Saxon Settlement is an amazing set! Amazing! There are so many things in there, you can spend hours just wandering around, exploring.

At some point, I fully intend to have some Merlin Saxons battle it out with Faveral Vikings in back to back raids on their respective villages. I'll probably never get round to rendering this epic struggle, but I'll have plenty of fun just setting it up.
