Problems with V4 Clothing to Genesis Conversion

I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction on how to fix a conversion issue. I have Sickleyield's conversion tool as well, but both the AutoFit and Sickleyield's converters do the same thing.
I purchased an item from Renderosity that was on sale that I've wanted for a while. I've converted other items from there without issues, but this one definitely has some. When I convert the item, the bottom of the 'dress' distorts completely and creates almost a step and ribbon away from the rest of the dress. I've included two images to show the problem.
On the left is Genesis with the V4 morph applied. On the right is V4. Both are wearing the same dress. While the Genesis version has some other anomalies ( like some odd smoothing issues ), that's not a deal breaker. But at the bottom, there is a great deal of distortion and I can't seem to get it to convert without the distortion. I've also included an image that shows the two models overlapping.
Has anyone else dealt with an issue like this and did you come up with a solution?

Did you try it on unmorphed Genesis before applying the V4 morph?
The problem is that those areas of the skirt are seen as belonging to the feet, so they get adjusted to keep the same relationship to the Genesis feet as they had to the V4 feet.
I have done it on an unmorphed Genesis and the same problem occurs.
How can I get it to fix the bottom of the dress if it thinks it needs to make an adjustment for the feet?
The templates don't have feet to try to compensate with, so I'm quite puzzled as to why it's doing it with this particular skirt. What Rendo outfit is it? Maybe I can pick it up with store credit and test it. Just say the name, we're not allowed to link Rendo things here.
It's the Star Enchantress Outfit by RPublishing.
I bought it and can now confirm the issue. Here's what you do to fix/avoid it, since you already have SRMS (this will work with anything else with foot issues, too):
Load the SRMDressBase from your library, from Clothing/SickleYield/!SRMS.
Load the Star Enchantress dress piece that's having the issue.
Select the Enchantress dress in the Scene tab, and go to Edit--Rigging-Convert Figure to Weight Mapping.
Start Transfer Utility. As Source choose the SRMDressBase and Target choose the Enchantress Dress.
Under the Source, and Item Shape, choose Morph and FBMVictoria4.
Below in the expanded Transfer Utility settings, check Reverse Source Shape from Target.
Click Accept.
The item is converted to fit the dress base, and because the dress base has no feet, there's no distortion.
Now delete the dress base and fit your converted dress to Genesis. There's still some clipping in the chest area, but it can be fixed with smoothing/collision and the included morphs.
So, if I run into any similar issues, these are the steps I take to try and resolve them?
Yep! Rigging from the SRMS dress base with Transfer Utility should always eliminate the foot distortion issue.
Okay, this solves the strange 'foot' issue. However, it has created an odd cut to the front of the dress.
Is this something that I did wrong? Is there something I should be doing to keep from having situations like this?
Was it there before you dialed in the V4 morph? You may need to unconform, delete the generated morph, and copy the morphs into the dress from the SRMS dress using Transfer Utility (uncheck everything except Morphs and then choose All in the right panel).
I'll give that a try tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
I undid the Victoria 4 slider on Genesis and the hiccup went away. So it's definitely something I did in the transfer. I'll do the new transfer tomorrow.
Okay, I have an odd question. I tried to copy the morphs put in the SRMDressBase like you suggested, but it's showing under the Parameters > Actor > Female on the FBMStephanie4 morph. I'm not seeing the V4 morph.
Do you have Show Hidden turned on?
Well, so far the only thing that's worked to get the hiccup fixed is to take either Smoothing Iterations or Collision Iterations to 10x it's setting. I don't need to do both, but Smoothing seems to produce the best results.
So, for the interest of others, here's the final steps I take when I run into this issue:
Step 1
Load the SRMDressBase. It’s currently located in your library under People/Genesis/Clothing/SickleYield/!SRMS
Step 2
Load the dress piece that’s having the issue. In this case it’s the StarDress from Star Enchantress.
Step 3
Select the dress piece (StarDress) in the Scene Tab. In the special menu in the upper right corner, select Edit -> Rigging -> Convert Figure to Weight Mapping.
Select TriAx Weight Mapping, not General.
Step 4
Select the Transfer Utility from the icon on the bar or from the menu Edit -> Object -> Transfer Utility.
Step 5
In the source, select the SRMDressBase and in the target, select the dress (StarDress).
Step 6
In the source, under the SRMDressBase selection, for item shape, choose ‘Morph’. A dialog box will show up. Scroll to the FBMVictoria4 and click it and then click the ‘Accept’ button.
Step 7
Click the ‘Show Options >>’ button. Check the ‘Reverse Source Shape from Target’. Click the ‘Accept’ button.
Step 8
Now, delete the SRMDressBase. Add Genesis to the scene. Fit the dress (StarDress) to Genesis.
Step 9
For any hiccups or clipping issues, add a smoothing modifier to the dress. If the problem doesn’t resolve itself with just adding that, up the smoothing to 20. You can try an amount less than that, but I’ve found 20 to work the best.
