Only way I know of is this: http://www.daz3d.com/sickleyield/genesis-2-female-clone-for-genesis

But I admit I'm no whiz at more technical features.

I believe you need to convert the V6 item over to normal genesis using a G2F clone in Daz Studio. Save this as a "Support Asset", figure/prop assets, and then create the poser companion files for this new item.

After this it should work properly on V5 in Poser using DSON. I have not tested this myself, but I believe it should work like that.

My bad Should have said this is being done in DAZ Studio 4.6.2.118. Pro Edition 64 bit.
    still useful info for Poser.

    I booked marked Sickleyield.
Genesis 2 Female Clone for Genesis & Sickle Rigging and Morphing System.
and no doubt they will come in handy.

But I still need to learn how to properly use the Edit / Figure / Transfer Utility tool.
I need to learn everything about DAZ Studio & Poser.

    Thanks for all the info

The transfer utility works best when the item is already shaped for Genesis. It doesn't automatically reshape the item until you've fitted it to the figure. That leaves you either manually editing the clothes to fit the Genesis base (and I do recommend using the base, rather than V5) in a modeling program or using the Genesis 2 clone as previously mentioned.

What's happening in your image is that it's applying the V5 transformations over the existing shape. So whatever differences there are between Genesis and V5 are being exaggerated here.
