hay..scatters...piles....and other barn yard detritis
I have been looking forever it seems for a better set of hay ground scatters, piles and other hay and straw detritus for the barnyard renders.
I have bales from all over and have the old tried and true set of hay pile and ground scatters I have been using since P4 which I don't remember who created which is getting a bit long in the tooth.
There was a freebie set over at ShareCg I requested from the artist who created an old medieval barn yard set and not used yet but judging from the render thumbs may not be exactly what I am looking for.
I am surprised there are so many barns and barn yards and medieval enclosures out there and here that this kind of prop set would be beautiful for if someone with more skills than me would create it.
I see something similar to the old bird nest from here and RDNA, but also with texturing and transparency options as well as fiber based meshing combinations to make it more realistic working with Poser 2014 render capabilities. Stalks and strands like fibre based hair
I would pay for something like this if it would just be made available.
Any takers?

I assume this is the freebie you are refering to:

Yes this is the most recent offering. As I said it looks pretty god but too smoothly round on top and sides so still not what I am looking for. Seems way to light but that could be the way it was rendered. I am going to install it and try it for ground cover hay/straw prop but what i need is also piles like this that I can put in a hay wagon which will drape and hang over the sides of the wagon.
Might be able to fake it well enough by using bushes and grass props and changing the colors.
I could also fake it doing a poopie load of post work, it would better than adding all that mesh to build scatters or hay piles one grass blade at a time but still no less helpful. :)
Do you have send in the clones? Set it to instance > random, change the min/max random settings (translation and rotation) and hit clone. Voila instant pile, and with the instance setting checked, change the color of one and they all change.
I'm not sure if I have a set with a single blade of grass prop to show you what it would look like, and using the rotation setting looks funky on entire grass patches.
