Making Green Complexions For The Skin Builder...
For those who have some proficiency with this product:

Which colours and values would you advise for creating the green skin tone for Orions, as shown in 'Star Trek'? I find myself in need of a way to render some for a friend's science-fiction project, but even with the (very well done) user guide, my attempts are looking a little awful!
Of course, if someone's producing a product with a relevant green skin for Hallowe'en purposes, would be interested in that, too. :)

Typically, I used to use the beautiful green skin from this:

But, for obvious reasons, it's only useful for Genesis 1 females. Not Genesis 1 males and certainly not G2F.

If this will work for you, Here's a link to the Recipe Card: http://www.draagonstorm.com/tempdl/GreenGirlRecipe01.zip
I use the Frankie Von Stein as my guide. It would seem the Orions are a bit more green.
I'm not familiar with the product, but maybe my settings for the standard Human Surface Shader can get you pointed in the right direction. Here's what I did to create the skin tone used in the attached image:
I started with the V4 Elite Lana texture (though any light skin texture will do). I changed the diffuse color to 120, 192, 120, leaving the map the same. The subsurface color I changed to 220, 255, 216, and I changed translucency color to 65, 195, 76. I left all the other settings the same. Essentially my technique was to apply a level of green to both the outside and inside of the flesh. The lights I used in the scene also had some green and yellow in them to help bring out the color in her skin.
Thank you, both!
Draagon, that's the first time I've used a recipe card (and it had me worried, as there's what looks like a faux error message and it hangs for ages, but it eventually gets through). Your version was good, though! I just needed to manually alter the diffuse colour setting, a little (then play around with Skin Builder's cosmetic options for the lip colour) and got a fairly good Orion.
Morgan, those values and settings helped a great deal for exploring the manual method. Similarly, I needed to play around a little more, but that certainly helped to get me in the right area.
That's not an error message. It's a popup window. The reason for it is, if I do not put a popup window at that point DAZ Studio will say the process is finished, when all it has done is get the settings... DAZ Studio still needs to process those LIE settings, and the only way I can stop it from giving control back to the script when it not ready, is to put up that popup window. With popup window you don't get control back until it really is finished.
Ah, thank you. I did wonder about that! The first time it happened, after five minutes or so, I closed DS down, thinking it must have meant something had generated an error. When it happened again, I figured It's deliberate and was relieved to see it go through.
As it happens, your green skin looks like it would also double for an excellent preserved corpse - very in keeping with the Hallowe'en season!
