How do I make a CR2 file?

zug22zug22 Posts: 73

hi, I have a set made in DAZ studio and i would like to put it on the market for Poser as well as DAZ Studio which means I want to make it into a .cr2 file. Fine, I go to the export meu itme and it asks me for Base Path and CR2 path.
What are these things? do I need to have bones in the scene to make a cr2?
I have searched but found nothing in the results to help me.
Thanks

DS will only export a single rigged figure as a CR2, so if that's a collection of props then I wouldn't bother as the CR2 exporter wont touch it.

When I first started out, there was no such thing as the cr2 exporter. But I learned by examining other cr2 files. If you open one up that is similar to what you want to do, you can learn a lot. For example, I know there is a way to save a group of props as a set in DS 4.6. You can set up a cr2 in the same way, I believe. No great technical skill involved, just a little text hacking.

Back in 2012 I posted a freebie prop on Renderosity called Small_Cottage, if you download that you can either re-work the cr2 files or at least get some idea of how much work was required to write the cr2 files. Best of luck.
