Creating Engine Exhaust Flames

Hi I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to create jet engine exhaust flames like the ones in the Vanguard product http://www.daz3d.com/vanguard as so far I have been having no luck at all trying to find out how to do it.. I want to be able to do it in the scene setup in Studio as I am using Toonycam Pro for rendering and would prefer doing it then, than having to put them in, during the post work phase.. Any help please would be greatly appreciated thank you..

I'm in the middle of a render so can't check this specific model, but a few spaceships have a morph/control to extend exhaust flames. Failing that I'd go to another product that has separate exhaust flames and borrow those (there is at least one, but I cannot recall which, sorry, but it has, from memory, additional props for lasers, missiles and exhaust flames.).
A New primitive cone, set to opacity to a lower value so you can slightly see through it, crank up the ambient to 100% and give it a reasonable exhaust color. Maybe even apply an uber light to it if there's anything nearby that would benefit from the light source.
I actually used that method (not that well!) a while back with: http://fav.me/d4g423s
Thank you for your help have found a couple of products but not what was really after.. :)
