Corrupted zip files for downloads >1GB ?
Can someone please confirm this behaviour:
When downloading files >1GB manually from product library those seem to deliver corrupted zip files, file size is wrong and 7zip cannot detect them being zips. This does not happen when downloading with DIM the same files !
I stumbled about that when downloading HDR Proset Yosemite Pack 2, file IM16978-02_HDRProSetsYosemitePackTwopt2DS.zip being larger than 1000 MB and already reported that to technical support and got message it's being looked into (yet just for that one file). I was able to replicate that behaviour on 3 different PC with latest Firefox and Internet Explorer, all 3 PC running under Win8.1. So I'm sure it is not a caching or browser issue, but looks like a server/CMS issue from my perspective (if it's not Win8.1 related in some way). Again, this does not affect downloading via DIM, those zips are fine and any file smaller 1GB is fine too (even the next closest ones).
Now I found the same for Ron Backgrounds which is a file > 1GB too and so checked for other large downloads. What I found so far are those files that don't work for me:
IM00019187-01_VandalsforGenesis2Males.zip
IM00018124-02_SunnySwimsuit2of2.zip
IM00016977-02_HDRProSetsYosemitePackOnePt2DS.zip
IM00016978-02_HDRProSetsYosemitePackTwopt2DS.zip
IM00018836-01_RonsBackgroundImagesandTextures.zip
Someone who has one of these products please verify that odd behaviour so I can be sure it's not my system or account before I add another note to the support request ? Remember only manual downloads are affected, so please don't use DIM to test !
Thank you.

This sounds suspiciously like the Magento problem a lot of files had right after the store switched over. There was file corruption at the end of the file where the server appended a text error message from Magento onto the end of the binary file. This rendered it useless. There was a fix for that posted in the forums a while back. You're on Windows, right? Kendall Sears wrote a program that could fix the files, if this is the problem. Check the following old threads. I'm not sure of a reliable way to detect this problem on such a large file.I have my own methods, but they may not work for you.

I know about those problems and the fix, but I just want a confirmation if others recently have the same problem with large files so I can be sure it's not on my side. I could easily enough use the zip files from DIM downloads, so it's not of high priority, but that's not the problem. If DAZ server deliver corrupted files, they probably want to know - at least I hope so ;)
PS: A simple solution would be to break these few zip files on server down so they don't come over 1GB each, if there's no better fix for the problem..
If you can wait till tomorrow morning (UK time) I can try one for you. Is a bit late to try now as almost 11:30pm and my download speed is slow at best.
No problem, I'm in Germany so we're in similar time zone (0:30) and for now it's bedtime. Thank you.
I don't have a pack that big so can't test it out.
Thanks Frank too.
I guess some people should have the HDR Pro Sets Yosemite 1+2 in their product library as those both are $1.99 PC items (I think). I found the problematic files listed above when sorting my DIM downloads folder for file size and then tried downloading them manually from product library (and yes, I know I have purchased too much stuff already ^^). But as said before, I can wait, no problem.
I just had a thought. I only skimmed your initial post, and didn't notice whether you mentioned what OS you're using, Windows for PC or iOS for Mac.
The reason I ask is, if you want to download any of the non-DIM related files from your Product Library, those are the old format. IOW, for a PC, you would need to download the Bitrock installer, which is an .exe file. The .zip files are only for a Mac.
Edited To Add: I just noticed you mentioned Win 8.1, so the zip files will not work for you.
Recent downloads from product library are zip files like they come with DIM, both for PC and Mac, only (some) older downloads have still attached installer files beside those general zip files (and of course those items that are not available from DIM have installers).
All I really need is a confirmation that *manually* downloading one of the large files from above gives a corrupt zip file before I add a note to my support request, so I am safe problem is not with my account alone (as I already know it is not my PC and I'm quite sure it is not Win8.1 related as I downloaded other large >1GB .iso files without problems) ;)
I'm getting the same thing, Win7, Firefox 33.0 -- gets to just over 1GB and fails.
Exactly the same for me. I am reporting this to DAZ 3D
FF 32.0.3 Win 7
Thanks both for confirmation, I added a note with link to this forum thread to my own bug report.
PS: I got a failed download with IE once at 1GB, but usually download ended without an error message, but file was corrupted then.
Mine failed exactly at the changeover from the download screen reporting in mb to gb, so exactly at the 1gb point. And with my superfast broadband (j/k) it took me 2 hours to get to that stage.
It just stalled for a couple of minutes, and then simply stopped downloading.
The error screen in WinRar says "Unexpected end of archive"
I have the same problem with downloading http://www.daz3d.com/iclone5-training-video
It is 2.96 GB
Thanks for reporting the issue.
Update: I got a reply from support that dev team will look into it asap
IM00016978-02_HDRProSetsYosemitePackTwopt2DS.zip
Has been split into two files. Please let me know if you have any issues with it.
and IM00016977-02_HDRProSetsYosemitePackOnePt2DS.zip has been split but i am waiting on the files to go live. but should be fixed soon.

IM00016977-02_HDRProSetsYosemitePackOnePt2DS.zip has now been split into two installers and shouldn't cause any more downloading issues but if it does please let me know :)
Those are fine now, so thanks for jumping in and letting us know :)
Do you have news about the non PC items being split up as well or are they still looking for a technical fix for downloads >1GB ?
They are aware of the problem and are working on it. That's really all I know.
I am late with my two pennies worth. As a side note, some browsers have a "Cache Size" setting. Any file larger then the room left in that Cache, will fail. All tho I only ran into that on older computers, with a really small cache (512MB) on a really small dedicated drive (Ram Drive).
Splitting the zips up is a much better solution at the sizes mentioned, as things over 1GB tend to need to be in parts for many reasons (ISP DOS detection, Server timeouts, End-user OS limitations, etc). Something like a Par-check/merger might be useful to have on the side as well.
