Right now not I front of computer but I want to learn zbrush as cheap as possible. I already did the most expensive part which is buy zbrush. Right now I can only make genesis into the scary blob which happens to be deformed. I do not have a drawing tablet at the moment but I have a hypersensitive mouse. My main problem is that my hands tend to not be the most steady as a left over reaction to a medicine I took years ago. I might get a drawing tablet but not till other things have been taken care of first.
I do not want to count my chicks before they hatch or whatnot. I would like to use zbrush instead of just look at it and make blobs with it.

Have you looked at ZClassrom on the Pixologic site? There are also a lot of Youtube, Vimeo etc. channels for ZBrush tutorials.

You are at so much more of an advantage to learn Zbrush from free sources these days than some years ago. I really recommend the ZClassroom. Also start looking at ZBrush Central. The forums are packed with not only tutorials, but addons, brushes, mini-how-tos and more.

When you can, a tablet with a pressure sensitive brush is definitely going to take your work to a whole other level.

I used this tutorial series to get me started:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie4Od4eoh-U
its about 10 hours in total, but after you'll have a pretty good idea about the basics of Zbrush.

A tablet is pretty essential in Zbrush. I had to get one too for Zbrush, pretty reluctantly at first but now can't imagine using anything else for certain things (also in photoshop or other 2d programs). I got a lil' bamboo tablet and it does everything i need.

What is a good drawing tablet? I had one but it broke on me, but that was years ago. I do not know what happened to it, but it stopped working. I do not want to count the chicks before they hatch from their eggies but hopefully I can get one soon, but that could mean Daz Soon for all I know.

For the mouse and hand problem try a different mouse pad first. Look for a course cloth pad that gives a bit of drag to the mouse.

You don't need a tablet to follow the tutorial i linked to. You could check it out before deciding on a tablet. I got mine a while ago, from what i remember you wanna check the pressure resolution or something like that. Like I mentioned I got a little wacom bamboo, it is litterally small. There are large (expensive) tablets too, but i can't actually draw too good so a small sensitive one is good for my needs.

btw - there are also several hard copy magazines [which may or not have e-zine counterparts] which are $ items. The local libraries may have copies to read. Some are devoted to ZBrush, others are general 3D or 3D art types.
