3rd party content
Having previously used Daz Studio on a PC (albeit not very successfully) I have just loaded it onto my iMac.
I don't seem to have a problem installing content using DIM (although I will reserve judgement), but I'm having difficulty installing 3rd party content purchased from other sources.
I have recently acquired some content and the read me file states :
Unzip into your D|S Content directory; make sure "use folder names" option is
checked.
That seems fairly straightforward, except that within the top level file folder I cannot find any kind of "zip" file to "unzip".
I've checked in Finder and all that appears is a list of folders and within in them a whole lot of files. Consequently I am at a loss as to what to do. I'm sure I must be missing something obvious, but I don't know what.
I should add that there were two separate downloads. One for Daz and one for Poser, and it was stated that the product was compatible with both PC and Mac.
As yet I've received no reply to help request from the vendor.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the top level folder should actually be the zip and the files enclosed are the content, but I may be mistaken in what you're seeing and what I'm thinking. Zipped content is usable between the Mac and Win versions, I use both and the process is for the most part identical.
What I can think of at the moment is if you're using a more recent version of it (Mavericks, Yosemite) you may need to tick off "Show all filename extensions" in the Finder Presences.
Make Finder the active application (the upper left hand corner will show "Finder" next to the apple menu)
go to Finder>Preferences and click the Advanced tab.
Many thanks for the reply.
I'm still using Mountain Lion at present, and I have “Show all filename extensions” already checked off.
Looking at the top level folder, that's all it appears to be, a folder with a number of sub folders inside. All I appear able to do is "open" the top level folder to reveal the contents.
These steps worked for me, also on a Mac 'Mountain Lion- - and trust me I tried everything...
1. Unzip the downloaded file on your desktop
2. Open your “My DAZ 3D Library folder and position it on one side of your screen.
3. Open the folder you just unzipped and position that on the other side of the screen, so you can see both windows.
4. Watch the “data, People and runtime” folders in the unzipped folder.
5. Very important do the following one by one folder at a time since it's not possible to merge folders like on a PC !!
6. Take the 'data' folder inside the unzipped folder - open the folder and move the inside folder to data folder in 'My DAZ 3D Library'
7. Take the 'Runtime' folder from the unzipped folder. - Open that folder and find the 'support folder' what you find is probable some .dsx + .dsa + png files. Drag those files to the 'support folder' inside the 'Runtime folder' in 'My DAZ 3D Library'
8 Also in the Runtime folder from the unzipped folder. Take the 'texture folder' and move it to the 'Textures folder', inside the 'Runtime folder' in 'My DAZ 3D Library'
9. you are almost there - I know its a hassle :-)
10 Last the 'People folder'... Open the 'People folder' from the unzipped folder. Here you will notice which genesis the item belongs to. In my case it's 'Genesis 2 Female'. Find the Clothing folder - there might be several subfolders here. Don't scram - find the last folder containing the dress and the materials. Drag that folder to the 'Clothing folder inside the Genesis 2 Female folder.
I wish I could tell you this is easy... Instead be patient an carefully move the files step by step. This was the only way that worked for me on my old MacOs version 10.6.8.
Hope it can be helpful to other Mac users....
