Carrara replicators convert to geometry, polygon or model
Hello everyone.
As is tradition in my posts, I don't speak English so I'm using Google Translate to write to you.
Well, I tell you my sad story. Almost a year ago I bought the following article but in its version for Carrara (which I can no longer find in the Daz store):
https://www.daz3d.com/night-and-day-city-for-daz-studio
At that time I did not notice that there was a version for Daz Studio, which was expensive today.
Well, I have Carrara Pro but when I export these giant scenes in segments (either complete or in parts using the OBJ format), all the replicators appear but in the center, leaving 100 buildings one above the other, and not on the sides like seen in Carrara. I do not know if it is because I need to mark an option when exporting or if I should do it from before.
Well the point is that I thought my best solution was to convert all replicators within Carrara to geometry or polygons or objects, but I can't find any option for that, and I didn't find anything on the forums either.
What can I do so that the replicators become a geometry that reaches Daz Studio via OBJ in the place they are in Carrara?
Any help or guidance is appreciated.
Thank you very much and greetings.

I have the carrara version of the set.
here is the comments that @PhilW has on the page.

You know the problem - you can use duplication and replication to build a city from individual buildings, but unless you have a huge number of building designs and shaders, you can clearly see copies of buildings throughout your scene.
Enter the InstaBuilding concept! This was designed with Instance Randomizer Plugin in mind. This enables you to generate a huge number of buildings from a handful of actual models. These building models have been specially designed to have a number of parts which can be turned on and off by the Instance Randomizer, and a large number of shading domains which are also randomized. Each model can therefore generate many different looking buildings every time you duplicate them.
There are five building designs and each is available in normal and tall versions, making ten core building models in all, each set up with shaders to use the Instance Randomizer to generate the variants. Don't worry too much about the underlying process - just press Control-D to duplicate the building, and marvel at the variations which are automatically generated for you!
Think of them as city greeble blocks, but taken to a whole new level!
There's more - in addition to the core buildings, I have included four pre-made city blocks which each use a different arrangement of the buildings together with a sidewalk base, street lights, illuminated building signs, trees and grass areas, lo-res people and cars, vans and trucks (many of which also use Instance Randomizer shaders!). I have also included a complete city scene which can be used to generate huge aerial cityscapes.
The buildings are fully textured and can be used individually or in small groups as simple backgrounds to your characters and vehicles, but really come into their own when you need large numbers of buildings and dramatic skylines! As they are relatively light on system resources and fast to render, they are great for creating impressive backgrounds, and by animating the camera you can create breath-taking fly-overs or fly-throughs.
Also included is a fully night time textured set of buildings, city blocks and a whole night city scene, ideal for police dramas, superheroes and other denizens of the night!
This set is the first in what could be a whole series of InstaBuilding sets from which to mix and match your scenes. Build your own city today!
All of this available in Day and Night textures where appropriate. The night side walks and road surfaces have wet reflections added to add to the drama of night scenes.
Unfortunately i have not had a chance to use it yet.
I hope this helps you out and maybey Phil will come by with some other information.
wishlist the DAZ studio one
it has been on sale a few times
Thank you very much for the answer, but I don't see a way that I can transform buildings with replicators into 3D models or geometry. So they will always look like this even when exported in OBJ:
you can create real instances for each replicator but it won't respect scaling and the results will likely be to heavy to even export.
The DAZ studio version uses instances so still the better option if using DAZ studio
In contrast to which it should see itself (obviously without the lights or shaders):
I agree Wendy, but the problem is money.
But as heavy as it is, how can I convert the replicators into instances in Carrara?
with the replicator selected click the spanner/wrench icon and you will see options
Thank you very much, then I press where it says "CREATE REAL INSTANCES"?
yes, you will see there is a warning
Yes, I notice that. Thanks a lot. You and your cat saved my life hehehehe
so will all the objects arrive in their place and with textures at daz studio? (it does not matter that the materials are bad)
Keep your eye on the PC+ for a Day category of the March Madness sale - the Daz Studio version briefly hit $2.99 in November last year (not sure if it was a glitch though) and so might turn up again at that price (fingers crossed!) I believe a few of Phil W's other products have been in the PCFAD cagtegory of MM this year.
ETA: Though I think glitch was the likely explanation for that November price: I can't see any deliberate $2.99 sales back then - it may be too new to go into that category just yet.
I understand, it's good to know.
Although I am no longer a PC + member
Sorry please read my correction - I thiink the November price was an error.
And I don;t think you need to be a member to get the $2.99 PC+ for a day price. Do today's ones not show as $2.99 for you?
OHHHHH
Great info, I'm going to check it out right now.
Thanks a lot.
Greetings.
* Edit *
You were right, there are PC + items that can be accessed at these prices without being PC +
Thank you very much for the information.
Good, because since yesterday I was looking for it, and could not find it anywhere, not even among the author's creations.
By the way, why when I export a carrara OBJ (it didn't happen before) when importing it into Daz Studio or Hexagon it appears without textures but when importing it into Poser or 3ds Max there it does appear with textures?
* Edit *
I already resolved it. It was just exporting the file with a name without spaces (if you want to separate something, you have to use the "-").
I mention it here in case it happened to someone else and they can't find the solution.
