Content to External Drive (MAC OSX Mavericks)

First of all I apologize if the same topic has been already opened but I didn't find it.
I am on Mac running OSX Mavericks DAZ 4.6.3.52 and need to move contents on my second internal hard drive to free space on the SSD boot ones. I copied the DAZ folder and modified all directories in Content Directories manager as well as on DIM Installation and it seems to work except for categories which don't. But I need them becaus eI have many items installed and I cannot work without the 'left menu' containing all thumbnails of poses, materials, and so on.
I searched a lot within the program to find a way to change directory of the categories also but I didn't find anything related.
May you please help me?
Thank you very much
Maurizio

Just a heads up from another Mac user, (not sure if it's covered in the thread you linked to), but I ran into a snag after seemingly successfully moving libraries around.
Simple fix, chronicled here.

keep in mind
USB 2.0/FW 400/800 external drive is going to load/save and access your runtime content very slowly.
USB 3.0 is going to be slower than your internal SATA 3GB/s and even more-so if your 2nd internal is SATA 6GB/s
USB 3.0 requires more CPU bandwidth for the controller than SATA as well so it's a factor along with slower transfer speed.
Thunderbolt is also slower than SATA 3GB/s and not cost effective for many, it's a professional solution specifically for large video/audio projects that need to be streaming continuous data.
2nd Internal is only an option on a Mac Pro (e.g. tower), otherwise you can entirely replace the single drive on your iMac, Mini, or Macbook; all of which are essentially fitted with laptop components anyway so it's a 3.5" SATA 5000 (Slower) or 7200 (Faster)
Depending on the time you purchased your Mac some of these form factors (connection types) may or may not be included.with your hardware.
Hmm.. Very good info and thought points. For now, I think the space savings on my main drive outweigh the performance hit, but something to concider, for sure.
Thanks!
