If you come in this thread you're gonna get BASHED!
Kit Bashed that is.
Hey gang, I've been away for awhile. Since I got into 3D graphics I'd pretty much stopped playing videogames so I decided to take a couple months off just to kick back and play some games.
I've been doing some drawings lately and I like to use Daz to create my reference images. So I often kitbash a lot of stuff together and it doesn't matter if the stuff doesn't fit together nicely because I'm just using it for a reference and I can easily draw in the missing pieces to make it look more complete. But looking at some of the things I've bashed together to create a reference model I've noticed it might make a fun game so who wants to play?
1) Grab some models, kit bash them together into a "new model".
2) Make a simple render that shows just your kit bashed model and post it to this thread.
3) Try to be the first to guess the sources of all the different models (post links if they exist) that were bashed together in someone else's model.
So to get the ball rolling here are two bashed models to get you started. A weird sci-fi tank and an art nouveau factory.
Good luck!

I don't know if this will count, but here's a test of an improved medieval inn I made last year. Lots and lots of assorted pieces from DAZ products in here, I think the only thing here that isn't from DAZ are the troughs.
I almost never use anything 'as is', I kitbash everything - which is why I really appreciate any merchant that adds extra material zones, offers separate props, and breaks environments into sections that can be hidden or moved.
N/M
I meant more like taking just chunks of different models and sticking them on chunks of other models to make a new model rather than a composite image made up of complete models from different sources. Kit Bashing in the way that Hollywood prop builders do it is what I had in mind.
Kitbashed airship, involving a steamcar model blown up to epic proportions, a ship themed carnival float by the same freebie maker, a "steampunk balloon" by someone else, some extra guns, and a whole bunch of primitives and shaders to tie it all together. Scene file was lost in transition to new computer. :(
...aww bugger, in the middle of another project and I have to see this...
Is that the Da Vinci Glider I see in there?

Also to make mine a little easier. Each of the kit bashed models I've posted uses parts from only 4 sources.
This a model of The Lexx. I didn't create the model, but I repackaged it as a Poser prop. I used mcasual's metaball script to create a conforming figure around the head of the Lexx. I created a transmap for the metaball, and there you have it. The Lexx is deploying it's weapon. Goodby planet! :bug:
OK, here's more of a proper kit-bash. :-)
Needs to be a full rendered scene or just a quickie of the composite object?
ETA: Nevermind, I see it's just the composite. Okay, will take me a while to pose and render it.
Okay, here we are. Let's see if the forum will accept it.
I haven't got a list of what all went into it, and won't get a chance to make one until next week, since I'm going out of town for the weekend. But there is a slew of stuff in there, and a couple of the items may not be available anywhere. Like the flatbed of the carriage which was made by a forum member some years ago (so it may be posted in the freebies thread, but probably in the *old* forums since I think it was done in 2011 or thereabouts.
The sawhorse I built myself at the tag end of my semester in an intro to 3D modeling class. And it's not available anywhere since it's not rigged and not UVmapped, and some of the polys are screwy, and I don't know what I'm doing so I don't know whether I'll ever be able to fix it.
But everything else has at least got an identity and can probably be found somewhere even if it might be a freebie, and there are a swarm of primitives, either the ones generated in Studio, or Maclean's.
Hello Mechgirl Aiko. That outfit shows up everywhere.
Ghastly: the glider-y looking bits are from the carnival float model, IIRC, which had kind of an art nouveau/DaVinci-punk/Clockpunk vibe.
JOdel: is that Tip's/Ozma's Sawhorse? Now there's a fictional character I've not run across in a long time....
Hello Mechgirl Aiko. That outfit shows up everywhere.
Yeah, but with a python head??? I also re-textured the Aiko alien with the python skin. I liked the legs better than the arms, but I got tired of fighting with it.
Yup on the source. It's the Sawhorse and red waggon all right. I've got an Oz project which has come back to haunt me.
Of course all the original stuff was lost in an inadvertant disk wipe a couple of years ago, so now I have to rebuild the ones I had and construct/assemble the others that I hadn't a hope of finding anywhere. Like a waggon that seats six.
...OK a simple one before turning in for the night
Based on a caricature from a local brew pub for one of their brands of ale.
Actually coming up with the head on the beer was the tricky part.
I'll have to see if I can dig up my ancient render of "Dork with a Mushroom for a Head". One of my first experiments with Poser's replace body part with prop command.
I couldn't find the old one but...
...nice,
Don't let Kaylee from Firefly see him. She may literally bite his head off.
Okee Dokee.... I'm going to make an addendum to the rules since this game is proving more challenging than anticipated.
Once the page count of the thread has surpassed the page your kit bashed model was posted on you can post a spoiler if nobody has guessed your kit bash sources.

Well it doesn't look like anyone has even tried to guess what was in mine. But since it was posted on the first page, and we're now on the 2nd I might as well start tossing out clues.
There are 20 things on my list of components for the wagon and harness. This includes shaders.
I already named three of them; the wagon bed was done by a kind person (name not recalled since there wasn't a readme, and the original post was in the old forums from something like 3 years ago), Studio primitives, and Maclean's Morphing Primitives pack.
1. Five of the components are freebies (six if you count the Studio primitives as freebies) Two of the freebies were produced by regulars here in the DAZ forums/vendors here at DAZ.
2. Eight of the components are here in the DAZ store (nine if you count the Studio primitives)
3. Six of the components were from other marketplaces. They may be no longer in those marketplaces due to clearance/disappearance policies or removal of items from other markets.
There is a shader package in each of these groups.
Counting the wagon bed already listed, there are five different vehicles which have been combined to build the wagon. One of them is in two iterations, another in three.. The other three appear only once each (i.e., portions of eight vehicles are visible in the finished wagon).
Five pieces of furniture are visible in the finished wagon. Two of these are from the same set.
The harness is from two sets.
Three additional items are used in the wagon
The final item is a padlock which the read me states came from 'poserworld and fairywoods'. I very much doubt that that it is still available in the Marketplace I got it from so I don't expect anyone to guess that one.
