Inconsistent shadows

I've got an image where V4 is wearing some glasses and a necklace, and I've noticed on both, the shadows are intermittent (i.e. start and stop and start again)?

I have changed the shaders on the objects, but it did not make a difference.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: I am using the Advanced Ambient light, and two Advanced Distant Lights. (I will do a quick switch to daz default lights to see if it changes anything)

That's the Shadow Bias setting - it's an offset, in cm, that is used to stop surfaces shadowing themselves (which usually shows up as dark bands). For close ups you will almost always have to lower the bias, and for more distant shots you may need to either raise or lower it to eliminate similar inconsistent shadows under close fitting, semi-transparent items such as stockings and tights (increasing the bias would remove all shadows, lowering it would spread shadows into closer-fitting areas - which worked would vary by items and by the desired look).
