Willow morph combining

I was just curious to know if anyone has tried combining 3D Universe's new Willow morph with other Genesis 2 morphs and how the results are. Do morphs like EyeSize, the face shaping morphs, and mouth and nose morphs work as they should, or do they scrunch up Willow's face or cause other distortion? The promotional images for 3D Universe's characters never really show his morphs in combination with others, which is actually a shame because if they work well, it's a great feature that isn't being illustrated.

3D Universe are usually pretty good when it comes to creating morphs which play nicely with others. I've mixed Kimberly, Sadie and Sam with other morphs with great results, and also Jasmine and Jason. I've recently picked up Willow, so I'll post some pictures of it combined with other morphs and let you see some results for yourself.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it. I've seen a number of your Sadie and Sam renders, looks like you enjoy making fun scenes with them. :)

I'm an absolutely massive fan of 3D Universe's art style for toons, so I've been buying their figures from Toon Girl Sadie and onwards. It was only natural that I'd pick up Willow as well. Anyway, without further ado, here's a couple of examples. Giselle was mixed in at 50% Willow, 50% Giselle and Girl 6 was morphed it at 100% Willow and 50% Girl 6.

The other morphs, such as eye size, shape and so forth worked as well as expected.

    Pretty good results IMO :)
Now I really need to ponder whether I like those enough to buy the G2F version when I already have the Dawn character and have no use for the clothes. Decisions, decisions...

Thank you for those, the Girl 6 combo looks better than I would have expected. Is Willow's head morph separate from her body, like Girl 6 and other DAZ characters? I didn't notice it saying so on the product page.

I like 3dUniverse figures. Only gripe is they don't come with seperate head and body morphs. I tried finding them but I just get the full body shape.

I thought Sadie and Sam had separate head and body morphs?

If the new figures don't have separate morphs though, that's unfortunately a deal-breaker for me. :(

Not sure about Sam and Sadie, but I also couldn't find them on Eclypse.

Sadie and Sam had a full body morph (head + body) and a separate head morph, so you could technically dial it out to keep the body.

However, the newer figures Eclypse and Willow only have a full body morph so what you see is what you get. It's a shame, but in my opinion she's adorable enough to be worth buying despite the slight limitations.

...that's a bit of a disappointment since the other toon figures I have, Jazmin , Amy, and Kimberly, all have separate head morphs as well.

    Don't have Jazlyin or Eclypse.

Is it possible to split the morph? like using Gen2x or some such?

It seems odd that only some of 3D Universe's characters have separate head and body morphs. I wonder if it's sometimes too difficult to do because of that particular character's neck shape (maybe the head-to-body transition isn't smooth?).

Willow does look very cute and I'm glad to hear that other morphs work well with her. I'm just not sure if the fixed body shape would be a problem for me, and I would hate to return it simply because of a personal preference like that. When you have a free moment, could you try dialing in a little bit of a muscle morph (like Bodybuilder or something) and Heavy or Pear Shape and see if muscular or heavier shapes are possible?

Thanks for your help so far.

Thank you very much, they actually mix better than I expected. I wouldn't turn them up that high, but those are good examples. Guess the separate morphs might not be quite as big a problem as I thought.

    Much appreciated!

I apply the Smoothing Modifier to any toon character I make that also has 'realistic' morphs added. Don't set it higher than 2 otherwise the face can start to look odd.
