What are these?

Quick question what are these little red dashes. I know they are part of the curve form but how do I edit them if I still can.

    Only guessing, but I think you have been using the fast extrude with the Full DG on, to tweak the shape go into point mode and move the red dots around. To finish the operation hit the little lighning bolt in the DG window (bottom right of screen). You can change the way the tool works by opting for "Restricted DG" or "No DG".

    They're scaling handles. Make certain you're in Vertex Mode. Go to the Utilities tab, select the Stretch tool and click on one. Select the vertex and you can move it around, select the handle and you can scale the section.
