Omnifreaker's UberEnvironment2 light question

I've been a bit confused with the UberEnvironment2 light from Omnifreaker. If I'm rendering an outdoor scene all is well, but if I use it in an interior scene, if the ceiling of the set is on it renders as if the whole scene is occluded even if the origin of the light is translated down below the ceiling height so it's "IN" the room. Is this a bug or feature or am I just missing something?

appreciate the help.

You have to lower the distance the AO is calculated, it's ridiculously high by default, like 1000 or something. I set it to 25-50 usually depending on what I'm doing.

I'll let you know what the setting is actually called once I'm done rendering.. brain not functioning really after 16 hours straight of work...

You mean the height is not determined by the placement of the light guide? It's just in some world space units from the origin?
    thanks

Uber Environment isn't really a light, per se.. it's a shader that makes everything lighter unless it's somewhere it calculates needing the AO and makes the surfaces there darker. So it you can have the center of that "light" in another country and it won't matter. If you use AoA ambient instead that is actually a light that lets off a 360 degree light with ambient occlusion and would have done what you expected. (And its AO calculation distance is a lot more realistic by default) They both work well, just have to work a little differently with them.
