Someone had sent me a link to one of AoA's tutorials to help me understand some stuff..After reading it, I jumped the URL to it's base to see what other tutorials he may have on his AoA site....THE DUDE BUILDS ARMOR! Real, metal, fight with sword stuff!

So besides building all sorts of shaders and tech in the digital world, he builds (are built) all sorts of metal in the real world!

(years ago in my SCA days, I dabbled a little in smithing..that stuff is HARD...and to do it well, !!!!! )

Having met him in person recently, I can tell you he is also one heck of a guy to talk to. Very interesting, knowledgeable about many subjects and quite a conversationalist.

Ah.. the health problems mentioned on his site were from a long while ago... and he's fine now in general doing 3D instead of killing himself over a forge. At the time of the Summit at least he had nothing wrong that would be cause for serious concern and looked in good health.. but you never know. It is odd that he's not been around.. maybe he just got burned out and he'll be back in a while.

thanks Fisty...I was concerned after seeing that. I don't visit here as often as I used to so sometimes don't realise how old threads are.

He's a very inspirational artist, so glad we have him at Daz, in the conversations Ive with him Ive learned so much, and looking at his work in shaders particularly, its mind blowing how he builds them up haha. He's definitely made an impact on DS with his projects imo. His forge work is very impressive from what Ive seen on his site :D
