Architectural Elements

Sometimes, when I need a simple room or corridor, I build it from scratch using primitives. It's simple enough with a few cubes and planes to stretch them to the size you want, apply some shaders and there you go!

But what would take that process to the next level would be if somebody came up with a set of architectural models that let you dress that room up a little more. Stuff like:

  • Coving/Cornices
  • Dado/Picture rails
  • Skirting Board
  • Corbels
  • Banisters and newels
  • Door handles
  • Window latches
  • Light Switches
  • Electrical Sockets

At the moment, if I need those things, I kitbash something from some room that I have. But if somebody brought them all together into one place, that would be great! (And if it was a merchant resource, that would be even greater!).

You might want to check out the Create A Room sets by Collective3d.  They have a lot of what you're talking about, and I seem to remember them going on sale often.  I have at least one of his packs, and they're very nice.

  • Yeah, I've bought about all of the Collective3D build packs and stuff, and use them a lot.

On a different note, I could have sworn there was some sort of OBJ-format extruded-hollow-shapes thing that could easily be turned into wall-trim pieces (wall-molding and the like) over at ShareCG, but I've just spent like an hour scouring through there looking for it under every search criteria I could think of, I did find this, though:

    And also came across this...

    https://www.sharecg.com/v/64650/gallery/5/3D-Model/1800-Spline-Profiles-for-C4D-Free-Sample

....cept I'm pretty sure that one WASN'T it, and is in the wrong format anyway.

    .

Might find some useful Objects (format .obj which can be imported into DAZ) created by Spacebones  spacebones's Gallery

Could make flanges, gaskets, lamp fixtures, wall and ceiling trims. No mats or shaders provided. Some of his products are:

    Profiled Rings
    Various Objects
    Decorative Elements
    Enhanced Primitives
    Hollow Shapes
