CMS ContentDB.dat size?

Was about to backup the drive I have DAZ on before installing other stuff, but wondered at the size of the backup. Went looking and found that my F: drive (177GB total to back up) has a single 64GB file ContentDB.dat (in Content Management Services\databases previous). My DAZ Library Folder, Poser Library Folder and 3rd Party Library Folder all together amount to 47GB. Is there any way that a content database can be significantly larger than the actual content?

That is strange, if it's being reported correctly -- 64MB would be a more reasonable size. It might be corrupt. You could Export User Data, reset the database, and re-import metadata, then do a scan for content in case some data was lost.

There is obviously something wrong with the file. It is being reported by windows explorer as 64,0 GB (68.719.513.600 bytes). Out of curiosity I zipped the file (~10 min on a 3.4Ghz I7) resulting in a zip file of 9,08 MB (9.521.385 bytes), a compression ratio of 7217 to 1, which means the file is either mostly empty or repeating the same data over and over. I will just zero the 64GB file by resetting the database as you say, and keep the zip as a memento. Just wondering what happened to a large chunk of precious disk space.
