Removing morph from beard (Wise Wizard and Dwarf HD)

I'm trying to use Luthbel's Wise Wizard Beard with Dwarf HD for Genesis 8 Male. Trouble is, the Dwarf HD morph makes the beard deform and form this odd ridge at the neck line (that is painfully visible in renders). When I show hidden properties, I can remove the Dwarf HD morph from the beard, but this also undoes the height translation and puts the beard back up in the air above the dwarf.

How can I fix this ridge? My first thought is to remove the morph, unparent the beard, manually line it up with the character's chin via the Y Translate slider, and reparent... but this approach seems crude and error prone, surely there's a better way?

    the problem is the uneditable HD morph includes scaling

    another scaling morph applied tp G8M slightly dialed in so it shows in the beard then negativly dialed in the  beard may help after dialing out the HD morph
