Upside down hair

Hoping someone will know if there is any product the features long wavy hair that looks good if the character is upside down?

Linday dForce hairs are great for "not standing upright" poses (well, they're good in basically every pose). The Classic Long Wavy Hair might be what you're looking for.

I've attached an example render where I turned G8F 180 degrees on the Z axis and did a quick dForce sim. I find Linday dForce hairs simulate relatively fast.

  • Thanks! Picked it up since it was on sale - it might be a little too MUCH volume for what I want and I'll have to play with the settings. On my pic the hair spread out as it feel upside down whereas on yours it seemed to come together at the bottom. And did you do something to give it a drift to the right? DForce is something I haven't played with at all.

I'm actually not sure why it drifted to the right. I just did a single-frame simulation with "Start bones from memorized pose" initialization turned off. I find that setting can be useful sometimes, but when I just want something to drape in place, I tend to turn it off.

If you want to reduce the volume of the hair, setting a higher gravity value might do the trick. Under Simulation Settings > Environment, there is a Gravity slider you can play with. dForce also lets you create wind nodes to influence simulated objects, under Create > New dForce Wind Node.

Linday hair products usually include a PDF tutorial that has tips for dForce, I recommend checking that out too.
