"carving" in bryce- how to apply bump and displacemebt?

I'm sure there's a tutorial, but I'm too lazy to spend the day searching... any leads?

    Can't do displacement.

    For bump, load an image or create a procedural texture into one of the channels (A,B,C or D) the Materials Lab. Increase/Decrease the Bump slider.

    Displacement is the same as bump as far as how you apply it, except that a lot more caution is required.

    First job when applying displacement is to set Priority to Low. OK, it slows down your render but there is much much less chance that Bryce will just crash as soon as you add some displacement.
