Unknown Technical Problem

I recently installed some old stuff for use with Daz Studio and I got the installation slightly wrong as it was done manually. It was a locker room with a pre-load option for the whole room. When I tried to load the room it told me the .obj files were missing and loaded a really screwed up version of said scene. That's not the problem though, when I deleted everything my default screen is now gray instead of blue. There's nothing in the Scene tab to delete and I tried quitting and restarting, still stuck. It's causing minor problems and I don't know how to correct this. Please help

I even tried Restore Factory Defaults under the Preferences (F2) setting, that didn't work either.
Can you change it in Window > Style > Customize Colors, last item is viewport background (note that this is just what shows in the viewport, it doesn't affect renders).
No, the solid gray background is the only thing that won't change color. That's also my default view by the way. The grid that normally loads with Daz looks messed up too.
Update: Tried a slightly different approach, didn't solve the problem but yielded an interesting result. I was using 4.6 so I decided to upgrade to 4.7 to see if that would work. The first time I started 4.7 I had the gray screen problem. While I might not know a lot about Daz Studio it doesn't take a genius to figure out this appears to be a problem with a common shared file. Maybe this will clue in someone who knows more about this than me. I'm currently in the process of trying to erase every single Daz related file on my computer, save my content directory which isn't default. I'm hoping a truly fresh install might do the trick.
Update: Wiping every file off my computer worked, I got rid of the gray screen problem. Now for my next issue. Daz Studio 4.7 > Edit > Where's my backdrop option?
Window > Style > Customize Colors
Not that, I mean the option for changing my background image. It was above the audio option in edit. For the record I'm also not fond of the massive UI redesign.
For the render background it's Window > Pane > Environment
That's what I was looking for, thank you. By the way, what's the deal with the UI overhaul? It was working just fine as it was in 4.6 in my opinion. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
