Not sure if this is a dumb question or not but I am gonna ask anywho.....

What is the difference between Shaders and Shader Presets and/or Lights and Light Presets within the hierarchy of the Studio Library? Can they be combined into a single folder without issues....why separate them?

Technically everything you see in the Content Library is a Preset, so newer products and ones that get updated will use Light Presets and Shader Presets. And you can certainly combine them, the folders they're in are irrelevant to their functioning.

Technically everything isn't a preset DAZ is just lumping them all together for simplicity. A Shader is a new set of instructions for the render engine to define how a surface works with light, AoA's SubSufaceShader is a shader. A preset is just as its name implies, it presets the values used and often the shader needed.
