RTX3090 - Black Screen - 100% Fan During Render

Hi everyone
I have read several posts from years back with similar symptoms.
The conclusion in most of the threads was the lack of memory on the card, back then cards where 9xx or 10xx
Basically I never had any issues with DAZ Studio, I rendering for comic books in print quality and things have been smooth, never had a single interruption during the rendering process until 1 week ago.
I realize this issue might be Nvidia Related since I believe (can't really confirm) that the issue started with the current driver version (471.41) Studio or Game doesn't make a difference.
That being said the crash seems related to the content in someway. I have all the characters for the comic books as drag and drop subsets, I am sometimes to render the scene when I create the character from the scratch.

here is the error message...
It is always the exact same error prompt except the Kernel Error appeared once out of 40 attempts...
Obviously I used DDU already, rendering in Maya / Blender or games continues to work perfect.
Any good advice would be appreciated.

I have had exactly the same problem since I got my 3090 3 weeks ago.
I had a 3060 just before and had no problems with it for 2 months...

My rendering starts, but after 2-3 min stops with the picture full of noise. If I want to re-render I get a black render after a minute, even if I delete everything in the scene.

The only solution is to close daz and reopen the scene.

Besides that I can open a second instance of Daz and render an another scene without problems...

About my scene there is :

    • 6 genesis 8 characters with clothes,
    • 1 house with the objects of a living room (table, sofa, TV, plates with food),
    • 1 garden with a swimming pool,
    • a dozen trees in the background,
    • 2-3 empty houses for the neighbours.

My 6 characters and their clothes were in subDivision level 3.

The memory consumption tool tells me : 16 GB of VRAM and 33 GB of RAM needed for render.
When I start my render, before it crashes, I see with GPU Z that 20 GB of VRAM is used and I see via the Resource Monitor tool that 55 GB of RAM is used.

I think, "Okay, maybe this is borderline for my setup, I'll optimize my scene."

So I change the angle of my camera so I don't have to show the neighbours' houses and the trees. I set all my characters and their clothes to subDivision 1.

Now, the memory consumption tool tells me : 8 GB of VRAM and 27 GB of RAM needed for render.

When I start my render, GPU Z tells me that 13 GB of VRAM is used and the Resource Monitor tools tells me that 48 GB of RAM is used.

    And render still crashes...

My GPU is an KFA2 RTX 3090 with 24 GB of VRAM

    I have 64 GB (2 x 32) of RAM.

If I try to check the CPU in the advanced panel it causes Daz to freeze when starting the render (need to close it through the task manager).

I'll investigate but I suspect it's coming from one of my genesis 8 characters.

I'll try to render each time with one of the 8. If one crashes I'll have found the culprit, if not I'll try to render with 2, then 3, etc. until the render crashes and I find the culprit. devil
