Cannot Change Settings on Lens

Hello. I want to adjust the camera I placed in a scene, but when I go to click on the Lens tab, it cannot be selected. 
 

as you can see in the attached photo, I can click on some tabs, like "Dimensions", but not "Lens", "Blades", or other tabs.

 

i have tried loading new cameras but they all have the same result. Is there any way to fix this so I can access all the camera settings?

Are you using Iray or 3Delight (Render Settings pane, Editor or Advanced tabs)? If you have Preferences>Show Hidden Properties on in the Parameters pane option menu then you will see properties that do not apply to the current situation.

Thanks for responding. Sorry, the attachment did not go through the first time. 
So, I was in 3delight and the lens setting is not an option to select like I mentioned.
Now that I switched it to Iray, I am able to access the lens options just fine.
However, when I render the image, NOTHING shows up. It just pulls up the render window and no figures or images are rendered. Its just a blank grid.

UPDATE: I have not gotten much farther but I have been able to find the lens selection on the Cameras tab. But when I click on Spherical under the distortion type, nothing happens to the display; the viewport looks exactly the same as the normal view with the default lens. What do I need to do so the scene changes its view when I click on the Spherical distortion lens? Thank you
