Questions about "create a category from".

First of all, sorry for the Google´s english, :P

I am a new user, I do not know if this post is in the right place; but I have some questions about the option "create a category from":

if I create a new category and put a armor that was in another place, another copy of that armor is created ?, or just a shortcut is created?

What I want to know is whether the "create a category from" option items are duplicates. I would order what I have with this option, but do not want to occupy more space, twice the space.

Categories are just links to items, they don't duplicate the actual files.
