Problems with Carrara 8.5.1 Pro Build 19 Mac 32 bit

Hi, I've been running Carrara since it was Ray Dream and I have never experienced so many odd glitches in any software like these. I wish I could load it on my mac os 10.157 Catalina, but it wouldn't open the installer and there's no options in the preferences that will fix that. So I'm running it on a MacBook Pro 10.6.8.

 I'm working in the vertex modeler 

The magnet is set at 4 inches and no matter what size you enter, it stays at its default

The lathe tool works oddly, it misses some points

And the biggest problem is that its .obj and .dae exports will not load in any other program or open or import back into Carrara. So far, I can only export as a .3ds, but that trangulates everything. However, a file created in Carrara 7 opened in 8.5 has no issues in exporting, but a file created in 8.5 opened in Carrara 7 with have the same problems.

Anyone else having these issues? I'm waiting on DAZ to get back to me in 4 weeks and I've only had the app 2 weeks
