Cannot Delete

I had to reload DS 46018. I reset all my preferences and Content Manager.
But, now I cannot DELETE anything with the delete key in the work windows or scene pane.
I have to delete from the Menu. When I do that there is a rollover that comes up with a big X next to "Delete selected items."
Can that function be reset so I can delete with the keyboard? It has never occurred before on a DS loading.

    Reload the layout from Window>Workspace>Select Layout. If that doesn't work (or you don't want to lose your unsaved changes to the layout) you may need to go to Window>Workspace>Customise, find the delete command on the left, right-click on it and change the shortcut, then press the delete key.
