Generation Conversion and Genesis. What do I need?

I still like using my favorite Generation 3 characters. I have converted them to Genesis 1.
However, Genesis 2 is the flavor of the day and I want to use those same converted characters as well as converting my Genesis 1 characters to Genesis 2 to take advantage of the new clothing. My understanding is that Genesis doesn't easily use Genesis 2 clothing.
So Generation 3 characters converted to Genesis. Done.
Convert Genesis Characters to Genesis 2. I have no idea.
Time to catch up! What do I need?

Using the search option in the store yielded a bunch of clothing items, texture conversions, but nothing to convert your Genesis characters to Genesis 2. Perhaps I'm in the wrong section. So admin would you please move my question over to the commons or I'll move it myself if that's okay. I don't wish to get a penalty for double posting. There were 34 views so I don't think I'm the only one with this question.
If you want to convert your characters from Generation 3 or original Genesis to the Genesis 2 figures, you should have GenX2 which can natively convert from Generation 4 to Genesis (or with plug-ins, convert from Generation 3 to Genesis 1 or 2), plus the GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2

If you are looking at skin textures from Generation 3 to Genesis 2, you might need a tool like Texture Converter 2, but you stated you had already converted to Genesis 1, and Genesis 2 should be able to use those textures natively.
On the other hand, you could use the Genesis 2 clones to allow your Genesis 1 characters to wear Genesis 2 clothing through the autofit or transfer utility conversion process:

GenX2 plus the Genesis 2 add-on provides the quickest, easiest method, but there's another way to convert that doesn't require any extra purchases. The details can be found in Kattey's thread.
The total cost would be 82 dollars if I got everything above. Some people (me) are working on projects that overlap generations. I can drop that price down to 76 dollars but that would do me out of any other purchases for the month. Maybe two months if I don't exceed (budget as I often do).
On the other hand, if the bottom two products work as advertised it seems I could escape for about 20 bucks. 20 Bucks is reasonable.
The texture converter works well except in cases of complex textures which I use for a few figures. In this case Nightsongs Soft Skin Textures for Aiko 3. But that's my problem and perhaps Nightsong will come out with something similar for Genesis. I'm pretty sure she still dabbles from time to time.
I'm trying to learn Hexagon at this time but the above solution looks easy enough even for an above Novice but not quite intermediate user such as myself, that I'll definitely give it a try.
I've used the Autofit and found it to be useful. I like things that work with a minimum of fiddling. The transfer utility conversion process isn't something that I'm experienced at but I'll give anything a good try. That way I can accomplish my goals and be of help to someone the way you two were helpful to me. Scott and JMBeach, you have my gratitude.
Thanks for your help. I'll post some results as soon as soon as I succeed.
