Help! My LIE 'makeup' isn't showing up in my render..

It's showing up in the viewpoint when it's not on iray preview, it shows up in 3dl render, but it will not show up in my Iray render.

The material is from Runa for G8 it's her viking makeup.

See attached.

Thank you!

Did you apply the make up as a layer to the Translucency Color as well?

  • I did not.

It's a geoshell, so I added the geoshell to my character, then I applied the materials (the style of the makeup and the color) to the geoshell the way the tip says to. Do I need to do something with the translucency color of the geoshell? I haven't had to do that before. The default here, on the geoshell, translucency weight wise is 0.

Adjust your geoshell offset in parameters. If you have multiple geoshells with the same or extremely close offsets then only one will render. If that doesn't work, check the opacity map and make sure it's correct, maybe even remove limtis and bump it to 2 or 3 to test.

Freaking brilliant, this was exactly the issue! I toggled off my other geoshell to test it and BAM. There's the viking makeup. I would have never have figured this out. Thank you!!!

Glad to have been able to help ;)

You can get both shells to show, you just need to make the offsets a bit different. Another thing to keep in mind with geoshells, if you get black blotches then they are too close and colliding with bump maps so they have to be set higher.
