Im very happy to announce the release of A new 1860s Crinoline Dress.

This gown has been constructed using an origional 1860s pattern as its base, and textured using high res scans of fabrics from that period taken from the collection of a local theatre wardrobe to give you an authentic look and drape to the garment.

The material settings that come with the bundle are very flexible with the abiltiy to change the trims cuffs and collar materials on any of the presets, as well as lots of plane velvet material presets that can be custom trimmed too, thus giving it great versatility.

    Martin,

I've already made some very positive comments on your gallery posting. This is an exceptional product which will look great on my Victoria Six HDs.

I particularly like the large number of material zones and the mix-and-match textures.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Very nice dress. Especially the many material zones make it very versatile. Just a liitle point. In that times the tops have always bottoms on front or some kind of corsage to close the top. Your dresstop looks in front more a little like that there was a zipper.

The pattern i used , was for a dress with a hook and eye or invisible button (ie buttons covered over by little flaps at the front. So it is accurate to the pattern. If you wanted to add some sort of corsage to the front or buttons or bows im sure that would look great too.

Martin, as someone who once worked as a costumier specialising in clothing from the ACW period, can I just say I am very much impressed by the style you have achieved here. I can almost identify the old style books and patterns that you have used to base this dress on. It is the closest I have ever seen in the 3d world to a real life crinolined dress.

    Wow thanks very much.
I am by profession a costumer, and have always kind of flinched at some of the 'period' costume you see in the 3d universe, so this and the penny dreadful dress are my attempts so far to combat that one dress at a time!
Its great to hear such nice feed back on this outfit as i wasn't sure how it would go down as its so obviously a period dress.

I hope you will find it goes down well, as I do know there are (or used to be) quite a few forum members who also like period styles. I don't think I am alone. This is a render of one of the textures I did for one dress that I supplied the sketch for, and the vendor produced as close as he could get to my sketches. It is sold on another store though, so I won't link to the actual dress.
