Along side of "making of my next scene", here's a new picture trying to fake e-on Vue render and I'm really proud of it. It's using david grass technic to cover the field (made with bryce trees). Hills are covered by six differents species of special hemlock using instacing lab.

I've also use several xfrog trees and flower to compose the scene. Hay bales from share cg.

Vosgian house in the background. Rendered at 64 rays per pixel with 4 rays depth, T.A with boost light on and depth of field effect. Cloudscape by David Brinnen.

    Little post work in photoshop.

O, wow, what can I say? So many good renders. I'll just react to the last ones. Apologies to all those that did not get my direct attention. I did appreciate your works!

    @C-ram: great landscape!
    @Fishtales: get a grip!
    @Horo: Fantastic skies and terrains

I found that this old abstract had not yet been posted, so here it is. I call it 'Under water things'.

Horo - Thank you. Agree entirely with Jay. The spike mountain could very easily be out of Superman. And I really like the sky and atmosphere in your next two renders.

Mermaid and Vos - Thank you

    Sandy - fun piece

C-ram - WOW! The detail is brilliant

@Sandy - nice idea with the skull and hand.

@c-ram - beautiful scene. The fields in the middle-ground look really great. This could be at several places I've been. Very realistic looking.

@hansmar - very cool abstract. There are many interpretations of what one sees.

Horo- cool results with the filter experiments

    Sandy – nice render

C-ram – what can I say, I’m really amazed by your awesome renders, very photo realistic.

    Hansmar – very nice abstract.

I played with one of David’s cloudscape using Horo’s tutorial Using Cloudscape 4 My results.

1st render lit by Bryce sun.
2nd – lit by the Hdri
3rd –lit by both the sun and Hdri
4th - the sun from the Hdri was moved to the opposite direction

Nice one, Mermaid, first looks nicest than the other three, I think, but it's amazing the change in the renders when using the options separately and togehter.

@mermaid010 - very nice renders. I can't decide whether I'm with Sandy or Jay. If the HDRI has a prominent light source in it (sun for example), setting it opposite the Bryce sun is usually a good strategy.

    Hansmar - nice abstract

Mermaid - Beautiful scene. Its hard to decide. Certain aspects of each one stand out. But I'm going with the 3rd one because of the clouds.

Sandy - Nice one. They seem to be having fun

I needed to make something sunny to take my mind of the cold in here.

    Vos, Nice abstract!
A3DLover, very nice space scene! Maybe enter it in the sci-fi challenge?
    Very inspirational work, everyone!

Here's a couple of landscapes using some terrains/materials/other goodies from David and Horo. I'm experimenting with trying to give the a bigger impression of waves using Bryce-generated/GIMP-modified heightmaps and adjusting the ambience of the materials. Don't know if I'm accomplishing that or not, but learning a LOT in the process. :)

The one with the fog is my first try using Bryce fog. The GIMP-modified heightmap is not only being used for the waves, but enhances the fog by making it look more/less dense in random locations.

In the 2nd image, I didn't modify the materials or camera settings developed by David and Horo. The sky was swapped out and some minor color tweaks were done to the sky, but my main focus was experimenting with the waves.

Thanks for looking/commenting. Have a great night.

    A3DLover- nice space scene

Art-the renders are very nicely done. Maybe you should check out David’s Create a shoreline effect

This one is for you. Thanks for the model. :) I used the Simplon Hdri as a backdrop and some xFrog trees.

@vos - very nice abstract, I really like the colours and shapes.

@A3DLover - very good looking scene.

@Art - good work, the first has a nice angle of view and the light house gives the scene a focus. Your work on the water is great. I know it's not always easy, even if you know how to do it.

@mermaid010 - nice use of Art's model. The backdrop fits nicely into the scene.

Thanks, Horo and Mermaid for the kind words. Mermaid, I have been experimenting with David's shoreline effect, foam, etc. and looking for ways to give it my own touch. ;-) Thank you so much for the render using the fountain model! That looks awesome and I'm honored. *humbly bows*

Here's a new render inspired by my work. Better watch where you step. Never know what'll get a hold of you! :-)

@Jamahoney: Well, that's what you get, when having a date with Lucy!

@Horo: Thanks. Yes, that's what I like about a succesful abstract.

@mermaid010: Thanks. Very nice experiment with the different lights. For me it is between #1 and #4. And a very nice and peaceful garden scene.

@Fishtales: You are having fun indeed. Nice, strange, render.

@vivien1: Thanks. Good render. Maybe a bit too much light on the floor? Leads to a rather large area of the same light strenght.

@vos: Thanks. Wonderful abstract sci-fi scene!

@A3DLover: great space scene. Lovely 'background'

@fencepost52: wonderful landscapes. From a distance the waves look very good, the one closest shows that they are a bit 'dense'. They could have more variation in colour.
The one with the croc is a bit of a jungle. Difficult to see what we see. But, once you see it, it is very nice.

Here is my next render. It is a landscape, or actually: a skyscape. I was playing with volumetric skies, using waves and lots of phase, leading to very strange cloudforms that I like. Then I thought: it needs a landscape. Two terrains. I think the bumps in the lower terrain are a bit too big, but the rendering takes too long for repeating the scene. There are four trees in the scene and lots of instances of those four. I rendered in Super (fine art rendering). Postwork: auto smart fix in Photoshop elements brought substantial more contrast that I liked.
    Hope you like it!

A3DLover - Certainly a nice image for the sci-fi challenge.

Art - Very nice work. I like the perspective of the first one, and the wave on the second, Now the third one, I wasn't sure what I was looking at until I enlarged it. Then.... I liked it.

Mermaid - You made a lovely setting for Art's model.

Hansmar - Very interesting cloud formation, suits the landscape. And thanks, I agree, I could have use more shading for the floor.
