...I really can't afford Poser right now so before anyone asks this one is DAZ only, if it does well enough hopefully I'll be able to change that for the next one. :)

I haven't seen one of those before (3D model, I mean). It looks very nice, and should fit in well with the Streets of NYC Townhouse Row I bought in the Stonemason flash sale.

    How fun!

That looks great, and I especially admire your textures for the buns. Really real.

Nice. I already have a couple of hot dog carts (four, I think) in the runtime, but the textures on this one are nice enough to make me consider quintuple dipping. :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I'm more used to hearing things like "Are you done yet?" or "That's all you did?" when it comes to work.

The thread title is in memory of former Toronto radio show host Dean Blundell .. he isn't actually dead but his career sure is and I'm really going to miss the free "Sausage Fest" concert/BBQs they would put on for fan appreciation events, they were good times and good memories( ...well, at least the first half of them were, drinking in the hot sun for 12 hours with few places to sit down isn't too good for the brain cells). :shut:
The product name is simply 'Hot Dog Cart', I'm somewhat doubtful that anyone actually googling "Sausage Fest" would be looking for something like this... and considering it's only my second product for Daz, I don't want to push my luck too much with double entendres or innuendo, at least not yet. :P

I was half owner of one of those with the ex. wife. Our clientele was almost as interesting as yours.

Yeah, I had to give a little tip of the hat to street vendors in the product description...although it was right after taking a shot at the perceived cleanliness of some of these carts but having done a lot of renovations of restaurants in downtown Toronto, I can assure everyone that your chances of finding "clean food" in a downtown urban area are probably better with the vendors. I had also naively assumed that vendors were all owner/operators and was a bit surprised to learn that a lot are working for less than minimum wage + loltips. Gotta respect people that will work outside for next to nothing at 3am in the middle of February and deal with people that bartenders don't want to serve anymore.

...there's a few more stupid little easter egg/cultural references in there.
Try singing the license number backwards, if you're old enough you might get a tune stuck in your head. :)

Wow, that is some gorgeous modeling and texturing.

Yeah, I'll line up for this one.

Unless...unless you put sauerkraut on those hot dogs.

Ketchup, relish and mustard are for hot dogs. Sauerkraut is for something else. Nobody's sure what. Landfills, maybe.

Wow, this is beautiful! I'm not in the market for one of these, but I might have to pick it up. It's well modeled and meticulously textured.

In my head, I find I'm already building at least one scene with this. So yeah, considering the amount of stuff I buy off DAZ because I maybe someday might think of something halfway useful to do with it, this purchase is looking pretty solid to me.

I really don't have a need for a hotdog cart in any of my projects, but as a modeler myself, I am VERY impressed with the modeling and the texture work! Really looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.

This thing actually started with metal/roughness PBR maps and I had a Shader Mixer network to use them in 3DL, unfortunately there is a Shader Mixer bug in 4.7 that messes up the image gamma of normal maps so that they have to be manually set each time you load it. I didn't think that was acceptable for a product so I converted everything to something that would work with ubersurface. The original maps in Iray actually look pretty much like how it looks in the promos except some of the dirt is lost in the 3DL version.

I didn't spend too much time with this in Iray because there's a bug with the shaders(that's been fixed, dunno if they've uploaded it yet).
Iray is using DirectX tangent space for normal maps and 3Delight and everything related to DAZ uses OpenGL normal maps, so they need to invert the green channel in the shader. This means bumps will look like dents, rivets become divots etc.

...also, I'm using a Flintstone brand computer and my video card has less memory than I do so I'm not set up too well for Iray. :(
