Installed DAZ on laptop, now some Smart Content is missing.

Hi all, I already have DAZ running on my desktop with no issues with my purchased content showing up. However I installed DAZ to my laptop & now it seems that the laptop doesn't want to play well with my Smart Content. I used DIM and have tons of DAZ content that it shows it installed… (see attachment #1)

One piece I was looking for specifically was Dzfire’s Maximum Madness (which shows up in DIM as being installed). However when I got to my Smart Content tab, it’s not listed anywhere... I've dug through my Content Library and found the vehicle in there, but since it’s a DAZ product and was installed using DIM, shouldn't it have automatically been pulled into the Smart Content? (see attachment #2)

I've also double checked my Content Directory Manager and have the two file locations set up in my folder & the public folder as suggested in previous posts. (see attachment #3)

Anyone have any advice on how to get my buried files to show up in the Smart Content tab?

Thanks!

The column with the database icon at the top indicates which products are set up as Smart Content -- Maximum Madness isn't checked, so it won't show up in Smart Content. In the Content Library pane you can find it under Products, or if you right-click on the entry in DIM and choose "Show Installed Files" it will show you the actual file names and paths that were installed.

I figured that might be the case, but that doesn't explain why is shows up in the Smart Content on my PC but it doesn't show up in the Smart Content on my laptop. I haven't done anything different between the two systems & i always use DIM to install my purchased DAZ products when able.

If you look in DIM on the desktop, does it have a check mark in the Smart Content column?

I just checked and DIM on the desktop does indeed show SEVERAL installed files that have Smart Content assigned to them. In fact the desktop shows 35 items under 'Transportation' while the laptop only shows 17.

OK, so now I'm REALLY scratching my head now... I've attached the screenshots below from the desktop.

So this takes me back to the question about why does my desktop recognize the files as having Smart Content metadata, while my laptop doesn't recognize the metadata (although DIM was used to install the files to both computers & both computers are running teh same version of DAZ)? Do I need to re-install everything to the laptop or is there another way to have it recognize the content?

    >insert puzzled look here< lol

It sounds like there was a problem with CMS (the database that powers Smart Content and other functions) on the laptop.
    1) Have you installed PostgreSQL CMS on the laptop?
    2) With DS closed, in DIM select everything in the Installed tab, right-click on an entry, and choose Re-Import Metadata > All Selected
and see if that fixes it.

Yup, I've got PostgreSQL installed and running (see below)... I check DIM and it seems that the version running on the laptop is 32-bit. Does it need to be a 64-bit version (and does DAZ even have a 64-bit version of it?).

I'm about to try the re-install of the products now... I'll let you know if it works.

    *** UPDATE ***

Ok, I tried re-importing the metadata with no luck. =/

PostgreSQL CMS does have a 64-bit version, but the 32-bit will work also, 64-bit will be faster.

On the laptop, does the Runtime:Support folder have a file named something like DAZ_3D_15827_Maximum_Madness.dsx?

    Update to the update ;)

So after the metadata re-import, the Smart Content checks weren't showing up in DIM. However when I opened up DAZ and checked the Smart Content, a lot of content was imported.

So it appears that the metadata re-import worked, although it didn't look like it did in DIM.

So once again this has gone to show me that computers will never take over the world because they can't get their crap together. ;)

    Thanks for the help!
