Iray

In order to use Iray, will any type of Nvidia card be okay to be used?

The more vRam the better though.

  • How about a Nvidia Geforce MX450?

Not just any nVidia card, Maxwell generation is the oldest currently supported and the card needs to have drivers that meet the minimum requirement, which is 471.41 for the current non-beta.

Generally 6GB's of VRAM minimum on the GPU

  • Thanks guys.

  • Note, however, that Iray can use the CPU instead of the GPU.

  • Thanks Richard. That put's my mind at ease. I think I am going to try it. Worse comes to worse, I'll just returrn it.

  • so would  NVIDIA GeForce MX450 work in Daz Studio and would I get good 3 Delight graphics for that card, thanks.

3DL doesn’t use the GPU to render at all, so the GPU you have doesn't really matter, you just need it to be able to run DS itself. That card should be able to do that.

From what I have read the card has 2Gb VRAM, so it wouldn’t be of much use for Iray renders, though.
